Passover and Covid-19

“On that same night I will pass through Egypt and strike down every firstborn — both men and animals — and I will bring judgment on all the gods of Egypt. I am the Lord. The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are; and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.” Exodus 12:12-13

I heard someone remark recently how “ironic it was that the plague had cancelled Passover.” Now of course this was tongue in cheek as Passover could never really be cancelled even if another Seder was never held but was rather commemtary on the restriction against large groups meeting which would mean they would not be able to host their annual Seder that generally seats about 400 people.

But then I heard today that the Sanhedrin in Israel may do just that. Perhaps not cancel but postpone. They are apparently being petitioned to declare this a leap year which would delay Passover (or perhaps change the date, I should say) as they feel the current restrictions (due to the virus) would not give people adequate time to prepare properly. In other words, the plague has postponed Passover. How strange is that?

I’m thinking given the current situation maybe they ought to consider simplifying things by going back to the Exodus 12 instructions. They didn’t have a lot of time to prepare then either. Right?

Isn’t it interesting how this virus has changed so many things. Let’s do a run down of some of them.

1- The entire world is pretty much on the same page right now. This is unprecedented. Cities all over the planet grinding to a halt. The conversation in my home is the same as that of my neighbors – is the same as those across town – is the same as across the country. And around the world. We are all talking about one subject. The virus.

2- God is collectively silencing the idols of our time with the closure of movies, concerts, restaurants and bars, theater, sporting events, recreation, shopping and travel for pleasure to places like Las Vegas just to mention a few. And abortion clinics are finally being closed.

3- Churches are being moved back to home settings reminding us that it is not the building that is the church but rather “we” who are the church. As the scripture says: “Wherever two or three are gathered.” The “seeker friendly” Church with its programs and coffee bars is perhaps being stripped of the extraneous stuff and being returned to the simplicity of its roots.

4- Passover will be observed primarily in homes again while the plague rages outside. Perhaps this year we will identify a little more closely with those huddled in homes during that first Passover with only the blood on the door standing between them and the angel of death.

5- Israel is apparently closing their doors to new arrivals. I have not been able to confirm this entirely but believe it would be significant. The law of return goes back to July 5, 1950 which would make it 70 years as of this July. If Israel is deemed to be fully mature at this time can the fullness of the Gentiles be far behind? I think not.

6- Because of the virus Israel will be closed for Shabbat perhaps more fully than at any other time in their recent history.

I think the above is sufficient to demonstrate that we are living in unprecedented times and we are first hand witnesses to the final stages of God’s great redemptive plan. I’ll include a couple of links below that relate to my list. I apologize that the comments section was closed on my last two posts. I’m not sure how that happened and could not rectify it once the post was published. I do look forward to hearing from you and joyfully look forward to the things you have to share.

  1. Delayed Passover for Israel because the time
is now for the Passover of the Gentiles…?

    • I think there are interesting implications to a delayed Passover. I am still thinking about it. Hopefully, it will become clear.

  2. Good observations on this incredible time we are experiencing!  Only time will tell how this all plays out in light of prophecy. Peace and blessings. Hosanna!

    • Did you two see the Nemesis Maturity YT
video on the Atlas Comet? Between early
February and mid-March it has displayed a 4000 fold increase in brightness- far more than they had expected.

  3. The Passover of the Lord will be as it always has been. Only man seeks to change the times and times again.

  4. (having some trouble commenting under my WordPress account so if there’s two comments here I apologize) Thank you for this; I have been pondering similar things in regard to passover being like a quarantine and what that may mean for the church in this hour. Blessings and maranatha!

    • No problem. 🙂

  5. Thank you for this, I have been pondering the Passover as being a time of ‘quarantine’ and what this might mean for the church in this hour. Blessings and maranatha

    • Thank you, me too. It seems to me that this Passover may be one of special significance given all that is happening right now. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts. I do appreciate it. We continue to watch and pray.

  6. You might be interested in the newest Hidden in the Crag blog about his dream named Korah and Uzziah.

    • I did check it out and very good. Thank you for sharing.

  7. Cindy, there is biblical approval of celebrating the passover at a later time due to being found unclean by exposure to the dead: Numbers 9:1–14
read more about this here: https://www.thetorah.com/article/why-did-king-hezekiah-celebrate-his-inaugural-passover-a-month-late

  8. This comment is for the post ‘nowhere to hide’ — have you noticed your internet has really slowed down since everyone is self quarantining at home? Ours is so clunky now, and slow to load pages. Perhaps this will be another way the powers that be will be able to sell us all on the need for worldwide 5G. JD Faraq’s latest prophecy update gets into some of these subjects as well. Maranatha!

    • I wouldn’t be a bit surprised. Thanks for mentioning Pastor JD …I haven’t listened to his latest yet but I will. I met him while living in Hawaii… the most genuine, humble soul you could ever hope to meet.

      • I found out that JD was a pastor in North Idaho for awhile which is maybe 30 miles from me in Spokane. Chuck and Nancy Missler had lived in that area as well before decamping to NZ. Wish I had known of JD at the time.

  9. Dear faithful Cindy.

Your lead article of NY was sent to the Governors office in Albany. Interesting also how Albany GA has also been affected.

The Lord asked us to remember His word: for the Passover is a Memorial
    Exodus 12::14
    2 Chronicles 7:13

    Then

    2 Chronicles 7:14

The Lords Christ dwell in you.

    Bless you
    Bless your House
    Bless the Lord
Bless the House of The Lord and His Christ

  10. In Exodus, the Israelites were held in bondage by the Pharaoh. God intervened by sending plagues throughout Egypt to prove that He is God!!! Plague after plague, struck the Egyptians, while God’s faithful remained protected. When the greatest of the plagues, “death”, was about to appear, God instructed Moses to have the Israelites remain “set apart” (at home) and paint “the blood of the lamb” over their doors, remaining there, until “death” passed over them. The Jews have celebrated the “Passover” for nearly 4000 years.

It is not necessary for us to perform the same dietary restrictions, because “Jesus replaced the animal sacrifice”.

Incidentally, there is also no “rapture”. God never raptured His People. He sealed them. (He sealed Noah on the Ark, while the rest of mankind perished; He sealed the Israelites, while the “firstborn” of Egypt, died’; He sealed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego from fiery flames, etc.) What we are entering now is another “Passover/Sealing” event. The Hebrew word for “Holy” is “Kaddish”, which means “Set Apart”.

The Hebrews didn’t congregate in a place of worship during the “Passover”, they remained in their homes!!! That way, each family was isolated for the duration of the final plague.

Believers need to remain at home, isolated from all “outside contact”. They need to wear masks and gloves to protect themselves from the virus, anytime they dare to venture outside their homes, which should be as marginally as possible!!

What I am about to tell you next, is astounding but true. God has been “sealing” me, ever since I “obediently obeyed His commands”.

Because of a reoccurring health issue that I have, I no longer benefit from the use of antibiotics. My body has grown immune to them. On the advice of a holistic doctor, whose wife is a biologist, I was told to take Monolaurin beginning in 2015. I have continue to take it, to this day.

It turns out that “Monolaurin” kills the coronavirus. It is derived from coconut oil and kills many pathogens, including the Coronavirus. It attacks the “protein coating” protecting the virus. See attached links.

In addition to killing the Coronavirus, Monolaurin also kills many other pathogens, including Lyme disease. The following blog is very detailed in the defining the benefits of Monolaurin and other derivatives of coconut oil, including MCT Oil.

    • The typology for rapture in scripture is quite clear not to mention the verses that speak of our harpazo “catching up”. We are sealed by the Holy Spirit by the blood of the lamb at the time of our salvation. Believers may choose to stay home during the virus as that may be prudent but has no spiritual significance otherwise. God has not given us Spirit of fear. We are called to “go out” and make disciples. We can worship at home as may be prudent under these circumstances but no government makes that choice for us.
