Here We Come

My heart swelled with pride at the sight of these men (and one woman, I think) riding horseback into Washington DC to show their support for President Trump. The group call themselves Cowboys for Trump and are led by New Mexico County Commissioner (Otero County) Couy Griffin who said the group was formed as a visible way to show support for the President in his effort to secure the border (part of which New Mexico shares with Mexico) and in support of Second Amendment rights and the right to life of the unborn. You will notice in the photo above the yellow New Mexico flag carried proudly next to the American. One state out of 50 but representative of the hearts and minds of millions of Americans, I believe, who rode vicariously with this group … all the way to Washington ….. with one unanimous message ….. here we come!

Conversely, New Mexico Senators Tom Udall and Martin Heinrich voted against the “born alive” bill today which would have provided medical care to any infant who was lucky enough to survive abortion. A bill which did not pass thanks to democrats who made certain that it did not.

I could be wrong but with the recent push towards infanticide I think the majority of Americans are finally fed up. This is one line that should never have been crossed. There are a lot of prickly issues that not every American can agree upon but leaving babies to die …. that is something else. Only the most evil, vile of humans could agree to something like that. And those people right now ….. represent us. We are appalled; we are fed up; and we are ready to say “no more!”

It may be too late to avert judgment and God would certainly be within his right. But while there remains even the smallest window of time it would behoove us to seize the opportunity to make our voices heard in ways that we have not since the founding of this country. I think the ride to Washington was just the tip of the ice berg. And I thank these cowboys for reminding us of the simple place from which we come. America, of which we are the heart. Our parents, grandparents, great grandparents and great, great grandparents fought and worked to make this country the greatest free place on earth. Their toil, their blood must not have been in vain. They did it for us. How can we do less for those who follow?
