Zion Williamson
Just 33 seconds into a key game against North Carolina Zion Williamson of Duke University fell to the court after twisting his knee when the side of his Nike shoe unexpectedly blew out. Luckily, Williamson a #1 pick in the upcoming NBA draft was not seriously injured but suffered only a minor knee sprain which was not expected to permanently affect his ability to play.
The incident (as you can imagine) has created quite a stir on social media as a result of the recent Nike/Colin Kaepernic controversy which many considered to be nothing short of insulting. So, when the side of the highly lauded “it must be the shoes” Nike shoe blew out …. it was surely the guffaw heard round the world. As Nike got what many considered to be its “just deserts”. Well, the Bible does say ….
“Pride goes before a fall“
Or more specifically –
