2017 and the question of Jerusalem

“When the foundations are being destroyed, what can the righteous do? Psalm 11:3

This is a bronze medal I purchased on-line as a gift for my son-in-law for his birthday this past month. It commemorates the six day war when Jerusalem after thousands of years came once again under Jewish control in 1967.  An amazing fulfillment of Bible prophecy under the direction of General Moshe Dayan and Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin who as you can see are engraved on one side of the medal – the other side, the city of Jerusalem.

I’ve been enamored with this medal since I first saw it. The images inscribed on each of its sides amazing in both detail and clarity. In 1967, I was 12 years old. Completely unaware at the time that a historical event of a magnitude I still find hard to imagine had just taken place. Step two in fulfillment of Bible prophecy preceded by step one just 19 years prior when Israel became a nation once again. Answering a question that the Bible itself poses “can a nation be born in a day?” To which, we resoundingly affirm “yes” – as Israel was officially reborn May 14, 1948.

On January 15, 2017 the UN will seek to undo the second of these events by returning Israel to its pre-1967 borders by dividing  Jerusalem and giving the Biblical heartland of Judea and Samaria to a historically non-existent people. If they can accomplish this they have a good shot at undoing step one – which, is the real goal, I might add – as the pre-1967 borders of this tiny country are indefensible – and the so-called Palestinian people as well as the surrounding Arab nations will never be satisfied until the Jewish people are eradicated and the Jewish state ceases to exist. Which is why if the two state solution is ever enacted it will never bring peace.

If this happens this year (and I believe it will) we will see an acceleration of Bible prophecy like nothing we could previously have imagined.

Back to the January 15 date. You will notice that there are 70 nations involved in this decision. Biblically speaking 70 is a very significant number. And can represent judgment or a period of judgment. On this date, which is a Sunday – a mere two weeks from today,  70 nations will meet in Paris regarding the question of Jerusalem and may in the days before the inauguration of the new President impose their will upon the tiny, miraculously born nation of Israel. An exact 8 months and 8 days before the Revelation 12 sign on September 23, 2017. A number which I find to be quite interesting as Psalm 88 is known as the most mournful of all the Psalms. Read it and I think you will see why. You can find it in its entirety  here and from which I quote:

“You have put me in the lowest pit, in the darkest depths ….you have taken from me my closest friends and have made me repulsive to them. I am confined and cannot escape ….Your wrath has swept over me; your terrors have destroyed me … you have taken my companions and loved ones from me; darkness is my closest friend”

When the nations come against Israel it will indeed be their darkest hour. At that time they will have no friends, no allies ….. the Bible has made it clear that the time is coming when all nations will go up against Jerusalem. A terrifying and sad thought  but evidently the only way in which they will finally call out to Yeshua as their last and final hope.  Something Jesus referred to when he said, (speaking to Israel)

“I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord” Matthew 23:39

That being said, we know what will happen but how will it play out? Still more questions than answers it seems …. but, I have the sneaking suspicion that before this month is out the glass through which we see darkly will have cleared up just a little. And it may be a little bit different than we had guessed.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem they shall prosper who love thee” Psalm 122:6

Watching and waiting with YOU for the soon return of Jesus! Cindy

  1. “At that time they will have no friends, no allies ….. the Bible has made it clear that the time is coming when all nations will go up against Jerusalem…”

Perhaps, you would have been more correct in saying, “…all remaining nations…,” for as you know Sister Cindy, I am persuaded God will destroy America first, which will embolden the remaining nations to go up ahainst her.

Please forgive my sharing a few links

    • Actually, I agree …. I too believe America will be destroyed first ….writing with a severe cold. … I dropped the ball on this one …thank you for writing..always appreciated!
