Rock and Roll Concert
“The Devil led him (Jesus) up to a high place and showed him in an instant all the kingdoms of the world. And he said to him, ‘I will give you all their authority and splendor, for it has been given to me, and I can give it to anyone I want to. So if you worship me it will all be yours.’ Jesus answered, ‘It is written: Worship the Lord your God and serve him only'” Luke 4:5-8
I have just been undone by the latest post by Serayah515 on American Pie that it’s just about all I can think about. It’s not his first work on the subject (I read the original years ago when he first published it) but reading it again (with its updates) it’s like reading it for the first time all over again. Moving, powerful and unsettling in thought and content. If you have not read it yet it is an absolute must. I warn you though it’s a little lengthy (as it needs to be) but wade through it. In small pieces if you must – chewing slowly as you go as it doesn’t go down easily.
As one who graduated from High School in the early 1970’s I loved my rock music (at that time) as much as the next guy or girl. Over the years that has pretty well faded for me and with my current level of hearing loss, well just about all music is lost to me anyway. But those tunes …. there is just something about them that sticks in the mind. I can sing, “hear” and feel those songs as clearly today as I could back then. Even though I seldom think about that music these days just the mention of a name (Nights in White Satin, for instance) will take me right back there and I am lost in the music once again. No pun intended.
I’d like to think there was something of value to the “soundtrack” of my youth but I’d be hard pressed to find that now. Years ago, after learning about backward masking I smashed all of the LP’s I owned wanting nothing more to do with the vile images contained within and without. But, ahhhh …. they are not so easily erased from the mind. Designed I believe with an inherent ability to stay with us. Kind of like a dormant virus – never gone … just waiting for the right conditions to cause pain and misery to its host.
Before I provide the link to this most important work by Serayah515 titled “The American Pie Prophecy: an End Times Lament for Babylon America” I just want to say one more thing.
The name – American Pie. What is a pie if not a foundation? A pie crust can hold fruit fillings, meat fillings, cheese, vegetables, you name it. It really is a foundation on which other things rest. I think therefore that it is a very appropriate and telling name for what has been dubbed by some as “America’s Funeral Dirge”.
The Bible says in Psalm 11:3
“If the foundations are destroyed what can the righteous do?”
Yes, what can the righteous do? Well for one thing we can recognize it for what it is and repent for the part it has played in our lives. All of the ills we currently face (if you think about it) can be traced back to the 1960’s and the explosion of rock and roll (first across America ) and then across the globe.
” And as the flames climbed high in to the night …. To light the sacrificial light …. I saw Satan laughing with delight … the day the music died”
With no further ado – here is the link.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem they shall prosper who love thee” Psalm 122:6
Waiting and watching with YOU for the soon return of Jesus! Cindy
Hi Cindy, I always enjoy reading your blog! I see what you see when it comes to this song. I feel the same way when I hear that song. It’s very sad but our Lord has it all planned out, the good, the bad, and the ugly all for His Glory! I always get that same feeling when I hear The sound of silence from Simon and Garfunkel. It makes me think of how evil has gradually spread through our culture into our hearts, minds and homes. What we hear, what we see has lead us away from worshiping our Lord in spirit and truth. Yes, it is time for us all to lament! I believe Revelation 9 is rock music pouring into our culture. For me verses Revelation 7 & 17 say it very clearly. Songs in scripture, Mathew 16:17-19, Revelation 14, Rev 15, the longest book in the Bible the psalms, no instruments in the Old Testament mentioned, and altars have become stages, it is almost impossible to have a solemn assembly and worship our Lord in the spirit of holiness. Many of us are already worshipping the beast and don’t realize it, if it was obvious it wouldn’t be a deception. See Revelation 15:2. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy as stated in Revelation 19:10 and our Savior explained our end in Mathew 12:45. We have long let the enemy in unaware, now it is time for judgement. The black horse in Revelation is riding in now and taking peace from the earth, it is time for all of us to pay close attention to what we feed our souls with and worship our Lord in the spirit of Holiness and Truth. Our Magnificent Lord is seeking us to do so.

Thank you so much for writing and for your encouragement. I couldn’t agree more and you have succinctly added to the thoughts I had hoped to convey! I’m glad you took the time to weigh in on this as it is our collective voices that may (God willing) make a difference. Especially given the lateness of the hour we find ourselves in. Blessings in Jesus to you and yours. Cindy
