My Elenin Photo – *Updated

I was intrigued by the so-called photos of Elenin posted on Five Doves today, so I decided to try it with my own cell phone camera.  According to those posting photos, Elenin can be seen by taking a photo directly into the sun at mid-day using a cellphone.  Apparently, cellphone cameras work better than others due to the type of technology they use – infra-red, I think it said.  Anyway, I wanted to try it for myself and was astounded to get a very similar photo to the ones being posted on Five Doves today.

As you can see, in my photo, there is a bright object next to the sun. Is it Elenin as many are suggesting or something else?  Perhaps, friend and reader Michael, who is a master Astronomer can shed some light on this.  What do you think Michael? Is this Elenin?  Also, because of the screen size of the blog, the image of Elenin is partially cut off – (you can see it at the edge of the screen on the right side – it has a pink halo around it) – double tap the screen over the photo and the full photo will appear. It really is quite amazing!

Those of you who have photo capability on your cell phones might want to try it as well. I would love to see what you get.  I called my daughter in Washington state this afternoon and had her take a photo and even though it was late in the afternoon, she got a pretty good photo, as well.  Maybe, I will try to post it tomorrow.  Looking forward to hearing from all of you soon.  And, as always –

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper who love thee” Psalm 122:6  Watching and waiting with YOU for the soon return of Jesus!   Grace and blessings!  Cindy

* Thank you to every one who took time to read my post today.  I’m sorry about the problem with the photo, from my end, it seemed fine. Well, as it turns out, for those of you who missed the photo,  you didn’t miss much – unless you count a nice picture of the sun as taken on a hot sunny afternoon in Hawaii!

Thank you to Michael and Josua for your insight on the likely explanation for the bright object showing up in photos of the sun.  I was skeptical of the reports I read, but, got slightly more excited, when I got a photo of my own.

Thank you, also to Jay (in the comments section) for reminding us to continue in sound doctrine.  For some reason, there is something in our human nature that cannot resist the need to see or touch something tangible. And, for this reason, we must be very careful to weigh all things against scripture, – which, brings to mind my recent post titled –Signs and Lying Wonders, for those of you who may have missed it.   https://cindybythesea.wordpress.com/2011/08/23/signs-and-lying-wonders/

From last reports, Elenin appears to be breaking up but, will still pass through or crown Virgo by the twentieth of this month.  http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/highlights/128708798.html

And, while the comet may be breaking up, I would not count it out just yet, as being insignificant to events ahead in the next few weeks.  As, – El – is very similar to El (as in Elohim) and enin (as in “anan” the Hebrew word for clouds. http://www.blueletterbible.org/lang/lexicon/lexicon.cfm?Strongs=H6051&t=KJV

Again, thank you brothers and sisters for taking the time to read my blog. We really are blessed in this day and time to have the opportunity to share with, encourage and learn from one another. May God’s hand of blessing be with each one of you in these very important days.  Grace and blessings!  Cindy

  1. I think what your viewing is Venus.

Elenin is about 30 degrees from the sun. The comet’s current location in western Virgo makes it almost unobservable from northern latitudes.

There was a report that the comet might be breaking up… http://www.skyandtelescope.com/community/skyblog/observingblog/128708798.html

This could be interesting because of the location the pieces will be on September 29th, “crowning” Virgo, perhaps a correlation to Rev-12.

    Keep looking up!

  2. Cindy,

Apparently you have to be logged in to AOL to see the image. So we non-AOL users cannot see it.

    Thanks,
    Liz

  3. This is most probably only an optical effect caused by the camera lense. It is called ‘Lense Flare’. You probably achieve the very same “ghost dot” if you make a photo of a turned on lamp in a dark room.

    • Correct.

  4. I can find no link or mention of this picture on Five Doves, and your link is broken. How does anyone look at this picture? Is anyone else having problems seeing a copy?

    • I am too – (boo).

  5. I peeked in on the FiveDoves letters the other day after several months of not visiting and I was saddened to see how much it is increasingly hype and superstition-laced, as those who’ve been predicting date after date repeatedly backtrack and try to excuse their own fallacious claims, come up with even more grandiose spiritualizations of the text, or try to associate the most asinine mental or physical experiences with a sign from God. There is erroneous and false doctrine being promoted there from all corners of the spectrum of error.

Brothers and sisters, as Paul warned Timothy: “As I urged you when I was going to Macedonia, remain at Ephesus so that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine, nor to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies, which promote speculations rather than the stewardship from God that is by faith. The aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith. Certain persons, by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion, desiring to be teachers of the law, without understanding either what they are saying or the things about which they make confident assertions.
and “For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths.

Some who involve themselves in that sort of site are not interested in sound teaching. They want new information, something extra-biblical that is exciting and tickles the ears, and you’re wrong or hateful if you point out how it contradicts the Word of God. Let us be careful not to be drawn into that same crowd.

    God bless.

    • Jay – I used to be a “poster” on Five Dives before the Lord
“woke me up” – about a year ago. Not all, but most, on Five
Doves are computer characters – with “letters” created by their
very own editors. ANYONE that has been posting on this web site
for a long time is not to be taken seriously!!!! It has been set up to deceive and misinform and to keep Christians running in circles rather than find truth.

I know of another “blogger” that used to post on Five Doves until he was presenting “too much truth” and they ran him off.

John = beast in Antichrist Gematria
      Tng = The Next Generation

Many of their “characters” have Star War Names.

  6. Elenin didn’t break apart nor explode:

  7. I wonder if we know why anyone would like to distort the truth around Elenin? Imagine that!

  8. To Jeane and Jay: I am a regular reader and occasional poster at FiveDoves.

I am currently also very sad about the big Elenin Hype (last year it was UFOs) caused by the lack of knowledge in optics/physics/astronomy. They are giving me a hard time there too because I did not jump on the Elenin-train. But they are my brothers and sisters and ironically they only do it due to “blind faith”, which is actually so cute!

What you are writing about FiveDoves is sad. You must have had some kind of bad experience and that’s really sad. I am sure that the people at FiveDoves have a honest heart and a true desire for Jesus and everybody there is doing their very best. I ask you to forgive them.

FiveDoves is still the place where I occasionally get the BEST insights into scriptures. I don’t care too much about numerology and hypes (UFOs, Elenin etc.) or US politics, but I DO care about the shining pearls about scripture found and shared there.
