Twenty days from now, if the Palestinian Authority has its way, Jerusalem will be a city divided. And, by the looks of things, that is exactly what is going to happen.
How many of you saw this article from the Jerusalem Post today? “Sarkozy wants united EU voice on PA statehood bid” And, to further make the French President’s point, the EU is ready to enter a trade agreement with Gaza and the West bank for exporting goods from Palestinian merchants (fruit, vegetables and cut flowers) to European countries. You would think the EU would have bigger things to think about. Like the growing Muslim population across Europe. Statistics show that at the current rate of growth, in 20-50 years, Europe as we know it will cease to exist. It will have become a Muslim nation. And, while God loves Muslims and wants them to be saved, with the decline of the church in Europe that is likely not going to happen.
The nations are stirring like bees around a hive. If there was ever a time for intercessory prayer for Israel, our families, and our nation, it is now. With all things considered, it is quite possible that the world, as we know it at the beginning of this month, may well be different from the world, as we know it, by the end of the month.
Today is the first day of the Jewish month of Elul. Elul means “harvest” and it is customary to blow the shofar each morning with the exception of Shabbat from now until Rosh Hashanah. The purpose for the blowing of the shofar is to serve as a reminder for the people to prepare their hearts for the holy days. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elul
I like that idea; blowing the shofar daily. It seems a fitting image to keep in mind, especially now. May we too, ask the Lord of the Harvest to prepare our hearts and minds for the days ahead. And, may his coming be soon!

Very nice write-up, Cindy! Yes, this September is looming as prophetically highly significant, isn’t it? It is wonderful to read your article on the first day of the month.
I have always loved this time of year, as we approach autumn and the Fall Feasts. And, I agree that it is a wonderful idea to blow the shofar daily! I am also pleased that you discussed the month of Elul, “harvest”; certainly either this Elul or a near-future one will truly be a month of harvest, it stands to reason. Actually, I have started a study of Elul, and am most interested in 15 Elul (full moon), so if you know anything about the significance of that specific date I’d be thrilled!

Cindy – more than one news article is stating that Comet Elenin has either broken into two pieces or broken into fragments.

People don’t seem to get that space is big, really big, and when a comet breaks up it follows Newtons Laws and the fragments will slowly draw apart, but over the timescale that we see them, the difference will be so miniscule.” [Repeat – the DIFFERENCE will be so miniscule.]

They had this to say about another comet that broke up:

There are three options:
1.) Marduk – Planet X (which is a HUGE dark planet – so unless there is some reason for it to “shine forth” – this probably isn’t it.)
OR
2.) One of the planets from the Constellation “Cygnus 61.”
OR
3.) I have seen at least one article stating another comet has been seen in the heavens (name unremembered – sorry).
