A double-minded man

I think the sign above just about says it all!  And, if you think the prices you’re paying where you live are bad, just think what we’re paying where I live- $4.17 a gallon for regular!  Can you feel my pain now?  In the last few days, the numbers at our gas station have been changing faster than a poker dealer can deal out new cards at a Las Vegas Casino.  And, families already stretched thin in this down turn economy are feeling the pinch.

As I have watched American foreign policy in the last few weeks, this scripture from James 1:8 comes to mind:  “A double-minded man is unstable in all his ways.”

There was a time when the world looked to Americans for leadership and direction.  Apparently, that time has passed.  With this American President, what we have seen in regard to foreign policy lately is a strange mix of ambiguity, waffling, and apathy bordering on disinterest, if not out-right cluelessness.  For some reason, President Obama can’t quite seem to make up his mind which way to go, which leads us to believe that he either truly doesn’t get it, is waiting to find out which way the wind is blowing  or is waiting for direction from somewhere else.  None of which should be acceptable from an American President.

It should be apparent by now that the vast changes sweeping the middle east have very little, if anything to do with a true desire for democracy.  While deposing long-entrenched and hated dictators might seem like a good thing, in reality what happens is this – a void is created leaving  an open door for anything and everything waiting in the shadows for an opportunity to gain a foot-hold.  And, like  scripture says, when one demon moves out, (unless the Lord replaces it), seven more move in.  And, I think that is what is happening.

How many of you saw this story on Drudge this morning?   Islamist group is rising force in a new Egypt“.   Really?  Surprise, surprise!  And, who might that Islamist group be?   None other than the long-banned Muslim brotherhood, of course.   http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/25/world/middleeast/25egypt.html?_r=2&ref=global-home

It shouldn’t take a rocket scientist to see  the danger in this.  As long as individual dictators are in place with their own personal agendas and lust for greed and power, the true goals of Islam can never be achieved.  It will take a unified effort, the establishment of a caliphate to accomplish the goals of Islam which are: Islamization of the world (through jihad), the implementation of sharia law and the destruction of Israel and all infidel nations.  All of which are the stated goals of the Muslim Brotherhood.  The question is why the United States and the UN would support a movement which will invariably lead to its formation, leaving in its place an equally evil, but, much more organized, aggressive and powerful group of nations who hate us and seek our destruction than the dictators they replaced.  Double-mindedness.

Is the answer as simple as oil?  Certainly that may be part of it as Libya has the tenth greatest oil reserves in the world and ranks 17th in oil production.  But, as students of the Bible, we know there is much more involved than that.  There is a force at work today, hard at work, driving world events to one final and cataclysmic conclusion.  And, that day is coming very soon.

As believers, we are called not to be doubleminded but, to have a singleness of mind in bringing  glory to the Lord Jesus Christ and bearing witness to his name.  In Psalm 119:113-117,  the Psalmist writes:

“I hate double-minded men, but, I love your law.  You are my refuge and my shield; I have put my hope in your word.  Away from me you evildoers that I may keep the commands of God!  Sustain me according to your promise and I will live; do not let my hopes be dashed. Uphold me and I will be delivered; …”

This is my prayer today for you and for me – and, as always,

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper who love thee” Psalm 122: 6   Waiting and watching with YOU for the soon return of Jesus!    Cindy

  1. Blessings Cindy,

I am astonished! And I am grieved because the Church is sleeping!

It should be an alarm, but nobody is paying attention!

Psalm 83 – All of these countries are breaking to be joined.

•• Tents of Edom – South Jordan
    •• Ishmaelites – Saudi Arabia
    •• Moab – Central Jordan
    •• Hagrites – Egypt
    •• Gebal – North Lebanese
    •• Ammon – North Jordanian
    •• Amalek – Sinai
    •• Philistia – Hamas/Gaza
    •• Tyre – Hezbollah
    •• Assyria – Syrians

    They will take notice…

According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt will I show unto him marvellous things. The nations shall see and be confounded at all their might: they shall lay their hand upon their mouth, their ears shall be deaf. Micah 7:15

Perhaps “According to the days of thy coming out of the land of Egypt” (Nisan)

    Michael

[ Thank you Michael, and thanks too for adding the list. It can be confusing with all the different names. Your list is a big help. Grace and blessings! C ]

  2. We need to pray for the Lord to reveal His wisdom and understanding as these days continue to unfold. Let us not fight the wrong battles but only that which the LORD has assigned and keep from distraction and dissipation. As the LORD reveals the mystery of iniquity to the church (that is the church that is alive), we will perceive who the title of the antichrist belongs–whether it will be Islamic in nature or a secular beast. It may take a while for this to get shaken out. In the meantime, let us serve the LORD in vigor and not flag in our hope and zeal for Him as the glorious return of Christ draws ever nearer. And as the word say, “speed the day” of His coming. May the LORD provide for those of His who are in need as His judgments come to the land!

[Great comment Arnie! Valuable words indeed! C]

  3. The West has seduced the world with our lawless democracy of “self government” claiming the right to govern ourselves and live however we wish. How all these fractions rising up crying out for “freedom” to govern their own selves are only going to find they are headed from bad to worse. It was this lie that allow sinned to enter the garden in the first place.

Man has no rights. Never has. We have been given responsibilities from a holy God, the priviledge to serve and worship Him in the beauty of holiness. Only those who have been responsive to God to honor His will/commandments will be given a “right,” just one. Yet it is the greatest right He will ever bestow upon mankind.

Re 22:14 Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Freedom is not nothing left to loose, freedom is being hid in Him with nothing more to gain.

    William

[ Another great comment! I think one of the things I enjoy most about this blog is the great comments and insights shared by my readers. Thank you so much William! C]

    • Well said!

    • Excellent comment!

And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (Revelation 13:11)

“..two horns like a lamb..speaks as a dragon.”

A leader who claims to be for peace (even a Nobel Peace Prize) but wars and threatens and kills like the ones before him.

And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, (Revelation 13:13)

A leader who uses Drones with hellfire missles that sends them down (like coming from heaven) in the sight of men (before it kills them).

Pretty soon it will become obvious that O is the False Prophet and the one he came after (BC) is the a/c.

There are no others coming to fulfill these scriptures. They are already here but awaiting their final positions in the coming beast system, NWO.

  5. You are so lucky with your fuel prices as here in Australia I am paying $1.69 a litre and a gallon is 3.7 litres which is $5.88 a gallon.

[ Oy!!!! Thanks for putting things in perspective! Although at the rate we’re going, I have a feeling we’ll be catching up with you real soon! Blessings! C]
