“Because you have kept the word of my perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” Revelation 3:10
By now, many of you have had time to check out some of the links in the comments section from yesterday’s post, “god of all things.” If you haven’t done so yet, I encourage you to do so as there are some good ones. I want to touch today on something I found of particular interest from the essay by Sue Bradley and Sabine titled, Cern, Jeremiah 11 and the mysterious number 44. What a fantastic job of research these two have done! If you haven’t yet read it, here’s the link: http://archivesmb.wordpress.com/cern-jeremiah-11-and-the-mysterious-no-44/
After reading this incredible piece of research, I felt compelled to explore a little further one of the threads from their piece as it dove-tailed so well with my last post, “god of all things”.
40 – the number for testing. 4 – the number for earth. Barack Obama 44th President of the United States.
Mark Twain and the Mysterious Stranger, #44
In his final and unfinished novel (of which there are many versions – all of them unfinished) beloved American writer and humorist for reasons known only to himself writes concerning the personage of Satan, in a work he calls, No 44, the Mysterious Stranger.
Commenting on this, from a website called Twainquotes – “The name No. 44 for young Satan was one Twain had first used in the unfinished ‘Schoolhouse Hill’ version:” http://www.twainquotes.com/Number44.html–
“‘My wonderful scholar, tell me your name.” The school crowded forward in a body to devour the stranger at close quarters with their envying eyes; all except Bascom who remained apart and sulked. ‘Quarante – quatre sir – forty four.’ “Why – -why– that is only a number, not a name.'”
From Wikipeia regarding, the Mysterious Stranger:
Twain wrote multiple versions of the story, each unfinished and involving the character of “Satan”. The first substantial version is commonly referred to as The Chronicle of Young Satan and tells of the adventures of Satan, the sinless nephew of the biblical Satan, in an Austrian village in the Middle Ages. The story ends abruptly in the middle of a scene involving Satan entertaining a prince in India, suggesting Twain died before he finished writing it.
The story ends abruptly in the middle of a scene involving Satan entertaining a prince in India, suggesting that Twain died before he finished writing it. Wow!
As I mentioned above, no one really knows how or why Mark Twain chose the number 44 for representing Satan, although many have ventured a guess. One that I found particularly interesting involved comments Mr. Twain made regarding his early school years in Hannibal, MO as noted by Henry Nash Smith in a piece titled, the Levin Boys (1958).
In that school were the first Jews I had ever seen. It took me a good while to get over the awe of it. To my fancy they were clothed invisibly in the damp and cobwebby mold of antiquity. They carried me back to Egypt, and in imagination I moved among the Pharaohs and all the shadowy celebrities of that remote age. The name of the boys was Levin. We had a collective name for them which was the only really large and handsome witticism that was ever born on those premises. We called them Twenty-two — and even when the joke was old and had been worn threadbare we always followed it with the explanation, to make sure that it would be understood, “Twice Leven — twenty-two” (Smith, p. 20).
Smith theorized that it was “remotely possible” Twain arrived at his early name for Satan — No. 44 in this same manner.
With the question of a birth certificate still unanswered, Barack Obama, 44th President of the United States could certainly qualify as a mysterious stranger. A mysterious stranger who recently made a very extravagant visit to India, returning home with purchases made by his wife of idols of both Ganesha and Hanuman described this way in a recent news article –
“For God doth know that in the day that you eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and you shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.” Genesis 3:5
Mark Twain was born the year of Halley’s comet and died the year of its return – something he predicted.
Samuel Clemens, more commonly known as Mark Twain was born in Florida, Missouri on Nov. 30, 1835. He held many different jobs during his lifetime. Among them, a reporter, a publisher, and a riverboat pilot. In 1862 Sam began writing for many magazines and newspapers under the pen name of Mark Twain, a name taken from a riverboat term. Twain was a great writer, his three best books were Roughing It, The adventures of Tom Sawyer, and The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn. His books sold many copies. One of his books, A Tramp Abroad sold 25,000 copies. The year he was born, Halley’s Comet passed over. Twain vowed that he would not die until he saw the famous comet. Then, just before he died Halley’s Comet passed over. He died the next day; April 21st, 1910, at 6:30 p.m. Mark Twain stopped breathing.
Comets are well-known as harbingers for doom. What was the connection between the man (Samuel Clemens) whose birth and death was marked by the return of a comet? What provided the inspiration for his last and unfinished work, #44, the mysterious stranger?
All fascinating questions, when you consider – President Obama, 44th president of the United States, the mysterious stranger who has yet to provide a legitimate birth certificate, a man who recently traveled to India, and was hailed on his return on the cover of Newsweek magazine as “god of all things.”
For anyone watching, it’s not hard to see, the groundwork has been set for the time of testing which shall come on all the earth. The question is, are we and the ones we love ready?
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper who love thee” Psalm 122:6 Watching and waiting with YOU for the soon return of Jesus! Cindy
Are you ready?, that is a great question!
Walt was one of the elders of the first Church I attended. A kindly old gentleman who would ask questions of complete strangers, Questions like; “Are you walking with Jesus today?”, “Do you know where you’re going?”, and “Are you ready?”. Conversations would follow indicating if the person was spiritually open to the Gospel. If the conversation lingered he might have quoted a memory verse.
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. John 3:14 – 21 (KJV)
It’s really that simple. Believe in Jesus Christ and be saved. At this moment I have friends on the five continents triumphantly winning souls to Christ with just such a message. The harvest is ripe.
While I agree that God has used comets, very practically to bring judgment, and I do agree the time is short and compelling evidence abounds. There are some elements of speculation that I keep at arms distance. I might recommend caution about getting to far from the old paths. Distractions can be toxic for us pilgrims.
God’s blessing upon you and your Ministry.

Wow, Cindy, did you feel the Holy Spirit come upon you as you wrote this inspired piece? The times I have really done things under the guide of the Spirit, I can’t really even remember doing the actual work or thinking. Our Lord is truly telling us something through this post, or at least that is what the spirit is telling me. Bless you for allowing this piece to come together.
I hope you enjoyed Thanksgiving Day. So many say that Easter and Christmas are pagan holidays; however, this year I began to see it in Thanksgiving, too. More emphasis put on the food and the meal and getting together with family than giving thanks to the Provider. The Lord is leading me to smaller and smaller and smaller everything. Less is indeed more.

More wonderful insights, Cindy! Don’t we love the way things ‘build upon’ each other, grow and expand!
And there is yet another oddity:
One of the most intriguing “UFO” incidents in the US took place in Kecksburg, PA on December 9, 1965.
An acorn or bell shape craft landed in a wooded area in western Pennsylvania which, as many witnesses recorded, appeared to be a copper coloured , ACORN shaped “four pointed star,” 4:44 PM Eastern time.
While the official explanation continues to maintain that nothing of note was found, witnesses disagree sharply citing a well confined search area and the presence of several military vehicles which included a flat-bed truck.
Subsequent documentation, including a newspaper article dated Nov. 9, 2010 includes affirmation by a former member of a security unit at Wright Patterson AFB in Ohio: the object did indeed arrive at the Ohio facility.
The Norway Spiral/Nobel Prize of December 9, 2009 followed the Kecksburg UFO by exactly 44 years.

Hellol,
I am new to your site. please take what i say under prayer. ask God for desernment. I have been seeing the number 44 for about a month over and over. I am a sceptic when it comes to these kinds of things as i don’t believe every thing i hear. I take it to the Father for an answer. why im at your site today i have no idea. I have been asking God for an answer to why im seeing on differnt clocks 4:44 6:44 9:44 11:44 5:44 7:44 8;44 about 4 time a day. God knows my heart i am not looking for this number and i can not get away from it! I seen it on a reciept my wife brought home and i never look at her reciepts and text coming to my phone. I even asked God to make it stop as it is really bothering me. Now i know you can never see a certain type of car and then buy one and all of the sudden see them eveywhere thats why i ask you to pray for me. I have been feeling like judgement is coming to america based on dreams i have been having for the last 20 years that i haven’t shared because i have never been 100% sure it was of God. Im seeing some the these dreams happining now and if true it is going to get very bad in america but there is hope if its true! I found out that we have our 44th prez and had the 44th superbowl this year and in many hospitals in america code 44 is cardiac arrest. these may not mean a thing just thought i would add them. Sorry for the long responce.

Kim, the short answer is divine relevation ended with the completion of the biblical canon, which covers the remainder of history until Christ’s return (and a glimpse of what will come thereafter). God made sure to tell the whole the story so that there would be no need for further revelation.
While the Holy Spirit certainly illuminates the biblical text for the believer as they read it, perhaps increasing their understanding of what it says and certainly shining spiritual light on its application, that is in no way the creation of new inspired revelation.
It is important for us to walk carefully in such matters, as the claim of new revelation inherently places such pronouncements on the same authoritative level as scripture, which is the genesis of much heresy, false teaching, and cults. It is also the primary danger in the Charismatic/Pentecostal movement, which makes grand claims about particular spiritual gifts yet the manifestations displayed by those who claim such gifting lack the characteristics of the true gifts seen in the bible and instead quite often evidence alarmingly demonic attributes.
In these last days, some of the most dangerous deceptions and Spirit-grieving practices are coming from within the so-called church. This isn’t a matter that will be decided within the comments of a blogpost, so I encourage you to prayerfully examine these things and see if they are not so.
God bless.

Hi Jay, You make some very important points and I thank you for sharing them with us, but, in all fairness, I don’t think Kim was implying that God was giving me new revelation – or inspiration by the Holy Spirit in the same way that the authors of scripture were. Unless I am wrong, I think what she intended was “the leading of the Holy Spirit” – which is something I pray about before I begin my posts and hopefully is something that all of us pray about and for in our daily walk with Jesus. Blessings to you both! Cindy

Thanks. I agree with you both about the Spirit’s leading. It is perhaps just a good reminder to take care in the words we use because words have meaning and “revelation” and “inspiration” have particular meaning in the context of Christianity and the Bible, which is what was a bit of a red flag. =) God bless.

I wasn’t equating it with scripture, Cindy, but I, personally believe that the Holy Spirit does inspire us, lead us and assist us in things like this. I have been inspired by the holy spirit on various occasions to do and say things I would not have otherwise done or said. Scripture tells us that we are to do nothing in our own flesh but to be led of the spirit. I believe that this post was one of those things. So I guess, “led” was the proper word. Sorry about that. I also believe God annoints his people sometimes, too. I have heard people speak under God’s annointing. It is powerful, just like this post.

Thanks Kim, I understand completely. As Christians we rely on the power of the Holy Spirit for inspiration and for helping us step out where we might be afraid to otherwise. No accident that he is referred to as “the helper”. Blessings to you sister and thank you for your continued encouragement! Cindy

Another great article, Cindy.
Have you considered, everything about our President is False?
Have you considered that he is a supporter of the world’s different major religions?
Have you considered that his healthcare system incorporates the vehicle to mandate the MOB?
Have you considered that through his Predator Drone program, he calls down fire from heaven (Hellfire Missles) in the sight of men?
Have you considered that his administration, his policies and his world view are a copy of one who served the office before him?
The hour is late. We must continue to trim our wicks and warn others for the Lover of our Souls is coming for His Bride.

Amazing again cindy. VERY impressed with what I read on here. I believe you also seem to be under the belief that Obama is satan? or is it just a theory or a possiblity you are open too? I also wondered if it’d be possible for you to do an article on angels perhaps. i’d love to hear what you think of angels. Such as St michael, gabriel, azrael, etc. etc.

Hi Liam, Thanks for writing and thank you for your encouragement! In my opinion, “the man of sin” has not yet been revealed but, will be in due time. (2 Thessalonians 2:1-4). That does not mean, though that we who are watching may not be given a glimpse of him before that time. There are alot of things about Mr. Obama which do not add up, therefore, in my opinion he is a strong candidate and someone to keep watch on. As far as a post on angels, we’ll see. It always seems to work best when I let God choose the subject. Blessings Liam and thank you for your comment. Cindy

Cindy, I am glad you cleared that up (looking on comment above).
I agree too that Mr. Obama is not the Abomination of the Desolate, certain things have to be in order for that.
But one thing that I have been grieved over is the amount of evil spoken of our own nations leader. I know God’s people belong to another nation, Zion, but with what we are given, I see that we ought to pray to God the Father concerning America’s leader, whether or not we agree with his choices.
Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. 1 Timothy 2:1-2
Didn’t Nebakanezer repent and turn to God after his evil?
In addition, I was talking with two gentlemen, both from different countries just recently about this subject. They find it horrifying to see a nation so split and reclining on hatred toward America’s leader. Militarily speaking, it would be a perfect time to strike, when a nation is divided.
Just an encouragment to pray for these men as well. Was there ever a time when you never needed forgiveness?
By: Jared Ball on November 29, 2010

Absolutely! We are admonished in scripture to pray for those in leadership over us – for good or for evil – no one comes in to a position of authority unless God allows it. As Jesus said to Pilate in John 19:11 “You have no authority over me except that which has been given from above.”

You quoted Mr. Clemens/Twain as writing: “The school crowded forward in a body to devour the stranger at close quarters with their envying eyes…”.
Note that the schoolchildren described here do not crowd forward *AS* a body, but *IN* a body. Given the pervasive Christian context at the time he wrote, it’s not hard to see this (quite conscious, I suspect, on Mr. Clemens’ part) as evocative of we who are members of Christ, i.e., *IN* the body of Christ. Note also that they do not merely listen to or look at the stranger but they *DEVOUR* him.
Does this not evoke the deception of “even the elect” by the lawless one in the very end times? Eating up, as it were, that which has been sacrificed to idols… a body and blood not of Christ, but of the evil one, utterly anathema to Him?
Recall that on the 14th full day of his presidency (February 3, 2009), Mr. Obama and the first lady made a “surprise” visit to the Capital City Public Charter School to read to the children there. Clearly this was important to him, as was keeping it a surprise — all for reasons, I suspect, which go beyond what meets the eye.
The teacher there remarked, at the time that, in the president’s visit, “I saw two worlds coming together.” One of the students is quoted as saying of his visit, “Words can’t explain”. Interesting. Both quotes hint at a sense of the supernatural.
They read from a picture book entitled “The Moon over Star,” (!!) an account of the first moon landing in July of 1969. The symbolism of that bit alone would take pages to fully un-pack!
Check out the pictures and video here. The children, of course, are packed tightly (in/as a body), leaning forward eagerly. At the very beginning of the MSNBC coverage, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (in the lower right) is shown to be up 166.66 points — four instances of the number of man.
There are other interesting corollaries between the 2-3-09 event and the now-infamous presidential reading of ‘My Pet Goat’ on 9-11-01, an event which also appears to parallel the unfinished Twain manuscript in some ways. Curious…

Hi Art, Wow!! Very interesting! Amazing how both of these scenarios with the two Presidents are strangely reminiscent of Clemens/Twains #44 Schoolhouse version. (Not to mention the titles of the two books that were being read to the children)! Its just mind blowing sometimes how these things weave together – even over long spans of time. Thanks once again for sharing some great information with us. Cindy
