Heaven Bound

Although it was cloudy today where I live in northern New Mexico we managed to have a decent look at the long anticipated eclipse. And for me it didn’t disappoint. It arrived right on schedule as determined by God and no power on earth could change that.

What did disappoint me was that it wasn’t two hours after the eclipse before the mocking began and from a Christian Pastor no less. I’ll withhold his name but he is fairly well known. According to him all who claimed the rapture would happen during the eclipse should admit to being a false prophet and repent of their words. I don’t know about you but in all the reading and watching of YouTube videos I have done the past few weeks I have never heard anyone say that the rapture would take place during the eclipse although it certainly could have.

This Pastor is a preterist. And while I don’t agree with his eschatological viewpoint he has some excellent sermons that I have benefited from in the past. So his words today were not just stinging to me personally but for the watching community as a whole. How he can grasp such deep theological truths and expound on them with such eloquence and passion and still miss the forest for the trees is beyond me.

No doubt, by tonight or tomorrow morning the mocking will be at fever pitch from believers  (sadly) and unbelievers alike.

But I feel certain that while we did not observe with our eyes anything beyond the ordinary (if you want to call this eclipse ordinary) what happened and is happening in the spiritual realm is anything but (ordinary).

I don’t know how many hours or days it will be but mark my words something transpired today and will be known in due time – the watchman on the wall have sounded the alert – a more dedicated group of people who love the Lord, study his word, and love his appearing …. who do everything they can to warn people and call them to salvation .. have been nothing short of remarkable. A sign in my opinion that the Holy Spirit is working collectively among the many of us to sound the alarm.

Jesus warned sternly about those who were unable or unwilling to interpret the times. I personally believe he is pleased with the amount of dedication and work so many have poured into these past few weeks in order to do exactly that – interpret the times.

And, I think they would all agree – time is running out.

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem they shall prosper who love thee” Psalm 122:6
