Heaven Bound

On the morning of September 14, 1814  Francis Scott Key penned words to what would (in time) become our national anthem. Moved by the sight of the American flag after a night of intense fighting during the war of 1812 Scott hastily scribbled these lines –

Oh, say, can you see
By the dawn’s early light
What so proudly we hail’d
At the twilight’s last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars
Through the perilous fight
O’er the ramparts we watch’d
Were so gallantly streaming?

And the rocket’s red glare
The bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there

O say, does that star-spangled banner yet wave
O’er the land of the free
And the home of the brave

Etched deep in the American spirit these  lyrics still bring a sense of pride to most Americans. The last stanza posing an almost haunting question to the generations that would follow.

“… does that banner yet wave …?

We tend to take for granted that because it has …. it will.  But the day is coming when (by the looks of things) that will no longer be true. And for most Americans that will be a terrible shock.

Free Men

As I was researching this I found that another of our beloved Patriotic songs “My Country Tis of Thee” was written by another Francis –  Samuel Francis Smith and predates the selection of  The Star Spangled Banner as our national anthem by 100 years. It was in fact our defacto anthem up until that time.  And, interestingly both were penned by men named Francis which means “free man”.

The Blessing of a Nation

God has indeed blessed this nation. It would be 17 years between the writing of “The Star Spangled Banner” in 1814 and “My Country Tis of Thee” in 1831 – seventeen in the Bible is a number which indicates victory and overcoming. And this country has been blessed with both since its inception.

But another number has come in to view recently. The number 93. And this one is quite concerning as it indicates divine judgment.

It has been just over 93 years from the time the Star Spangled Banner became our official national anthem on March 3, 1931 and the destruction of the Francis Scott Key Bridge on March 26, 2024. The number 93 according to Strongs is the word adikia which means a violation of God’s standards and divine disapproval.

Summary

Based on this short study I believe God (for his purposes) blessed this nation to be a nation of free men. Both national anthems indicate this. The seventeen years between the writing of The Star Spangled Banner and My Country Tis of Thee (along with the one hundred years between) indicate a biblically favorable time even though those years encompassed the Civil War.

But in the 93 years since the Star Spangled Banner became our national anthem something changed. And not for the better. Sin, rebellion and wickedness have fundamentally transformed our nation and we are about to lose our status as a free people as symbolized by the collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. It looked strong, it looked stable but it only took one blow in the right place for the entire bridge to crumble. And tragically, six individuals lost their lives in the wreckage of this bridge – six the number of weakess, sin and evil as well as the number of man.

I think the imagery and the message of the collapse of the bridge is huge. From March 26th, 2024 to the date of the Great American eclipse (as it has been dubbed) where a giant X is formed over the country is 15 days. Now this is interesting because 15 is a number that indicates rest as the Hebrews left their lives of slavery on the 15th of Nisan following the slaying of the first born on Nisan 14 (Passover).

Which leads me to consider the possibility of the Saints entering their rest 15 days following the collapse of the bridge.

Oh, Say Can You See?

Those with eyes to see will.

But what about judgment? Oh, it’s coming. Some believe the saints go up as judgment comes down. Consider this –

On November 5, 2022 Senate Candidate John Fetterman of Pennsylvania was introducing Barack Obama at a rally when a number of American flags simultaneously blew from their standing position behind him at the precise moment he was introducing the former President. Here’s the story as reported by Yahoo News –

This event occurred 520 days before the eclipse on April 8th. A harbinger? It very well could be when you consider Strongs number 520 is the Greek word Apago.

Did you get that? To be carried away or lead to death? It doesn’t sound good!

Am I saying the rapture and sudden destruction will occur April 8th? No, I am not. But, what I am saying is that for those who have eyes to see … it could be – look back at the number 17 information above …. Jesus was resurrected on Nisan 17 which was April 8th that year !!! so it certainly could be and if not, its undoubtedly closer than any of us may think.
