On Wednesday October 4th at 2:20 p.m. an alert will go out to every cellphone, T.V and radio across the country in order to test the readiness of the Emergency Alert System. This test is being conducted in part by FEMA which is enough to raise the eye brows of some who find the agency to be less than trustworthy to say the least.
I thought 2:20 p.m. was an odd time to choose. Why not on the hour or even on the half hour? So, because I enjoy looking at Strongs numbers for possible insight I decided to check and found the Greek word for Strongs 220 is “cock or rooster” and is the word used in scripture regarding the betrayal of Jesus by Peter.
Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you that this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” Matthew 26:34

Here is the Strongs information-
Isn’t it interesting that the time the alert is set for is the same word for rooster – for what does a rooster do but alert us to something … rise n’ shine – its time to wake up, get up, rise-up – morning has come.
But are they really interested in testing their alert …or is it something else? The Strongs word 220 is rooster, yes – but in every case where it is used it is in regard to:
Betrayal
Is this what we need to be aware of? Alerted to? Are we somehow being betrayed? And, if so, how soon might we know?
And while I can’t answer that question with anything more than a hunch – my first thought would be –
Before the cock crows again ….
** My daughter pointed out today that Covid was officially declared to be a pandemic on 3/11/2020. A match for the time of yesterday’s test (2:20 p.m.) if you drop the zero. According to scripture, Jesus correctly prophesied that Peter would disown or betray him three times before the cock would crow. Was yesterday our second betrayal with 3/11/2020 acting as the first? And if so, is there a third one to come? I think I will be watching for some variation on 2020 or 2:20 in the near future. After which we might possibly expect the rooster to crow in some form or other symbolically speaking. What form that might come in I have no idea. But, I will be watching

I was under the impression that “cock crow” was also a Hebrew idiom for the 4th watch of the night, which is the three hours preceding sunrise. Whether that’s significant to your point is unclear. But there was, in Jesus’ case, the crowing of the cock followed by judgment. On that day, OUR sins were judged. Same scenario today except the sins of those who refused the atonement provided by God will be judged … for 42 months of global misery.

Thanks Steve. Great comment. I kind of thought about this last night just before going to bed so it was put together rather hurriedly in order to get it posted for today. There may be more to glean from this. We’ll see.
