It’s Up to You – and Me

Image result for stand up to be counted

I like this sign, it’s short and to the point. Yes, it’s up to you (and me) to do something. And tomorrow is our opportunity to stand in protest against Planned Parenthood and the shocking and vile industry they have made out of killing babies. Sorry, for the bluntness but there is really no other way of putting it. A big thank you to Steve Coerper for putting the information on his homework page at Anakypto Forum regarding the nationwide protest that is scheduled for tomorrow August 22 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A protest that is scheduled to be as prayerful as it is peaceful, I am hoping.

I will be very interested to see the turnout from the local community here. I am praying that it will be significant. And that the apathy that most of us are guilty of will be changed in the wake of the information that has been made public recently regarding the abhorrent practices of PP. (As if the 53 million abortions and counting were not enough).

Most of all, I am praying that the peace and love of God will permeate the hearts of everyone who takes time to attend including those who attend in opposition. And, that in my opinion starts first with the house of God. For without changes in our own hearts and humble repentance on our part it is doubtful that a gathering like this will be anything more than a chance to gather together, talk story and share sunblock.  But, I’m hoping and praying that it will be so much more.

On the upside, there are already some wonderful places that are working tirelessly to make a difference in these numbers. I’m thinking of our own GracePlace here in Farmington and A Place for Women in Waipio, Hawaii where I lived before. And,  there are hundreds more like them across the country. Places where women in crisis can find help, emotionally, spiritually and financially with resources available to help in every conceivable way.

Abortions promise freedom but deliver death.

But out of love comes light and life.

And it is God who is the source of all light, love and life.

With this in mind, I pray that the faces of all who attend tomorrows gatherings will shine with radiant light; the radiant light of the Son in the same way the face of Moses did after he had been with God. For It’s a compelling thing to see – the light, and love of God in the faces of his people. And, I pray that somehow by the grace of God that same love will be transferred to those around us who are so desperately in need of it. And, may we always choose life!

  1. I guess I saw this too late. I don’t think there was a prayer gathering here where I live today because I know a lot of people who would have been there. Thanks for writing about this.

  2. Thank you! For posting your last article. The precious Holy Spirit let me know this was important to the Lord to take a stand for the unborn baby. So, I stood in front of a Plan Parenthood building with at least 90 to 100 others who were likeminded. Also, wanted you to know this was out of my comfort zone. So, once again, thank you, for stirring my heart to get in the battle for the innocent lives of unborn babies. Who need a voice to cry out for life and not death!

    • Thanks so much for writing and sharing your experience. God may take us out of our comfort zone but we can take comfort in knowing he is there with us. My almost 80 year old mother was there with me – her first time at something like this and what a blessing it was for her and for me. Anyone who attends something like this knows its our hearts that are changed first. And, that’s a good thing – that’s the work of God. Blessings dear friend, stand firm and keep on keepin on. Cindy

  3. In Van Nuys, Ca. on Saturday; a large crowd showed up to protest Planned Parenthood in front of their place; God is good and may this blow up to change laws to protect the unborn whom God created. God Bless you Cindy

[Thank you Melody for writing and sharing from your neck of the woods. Praying with you that the law will soon be changed. Many blessings, C]
