2012 and the Long Spectre of 2011

2012. We’ve seen the movie, we’ve read the hype, but, what does the year really have in store for us?

All around the globe, people are welcoming in the new year with the hope that the coming year will be anything, but, a repeat of the last one.

And, what a year it has been, the mysterious deaths of thousands of blackbirds on New Years day 2011, an omen, it would seem, of the months that would follow.

And, while, many hope that the tragic events of the previous year are behind us and soon to be forgotten, in reality, the spectre of 2011 is already casting a long shadow in to the far reaches of the coming year.

How many of you saw the photo of the “giant” in the crowd that had gathered to observe the funeral procession for Korean leader Kim Jong Il?  Thought to be Korean basketball player Ri “Michael” Myung Hun, at 7’8″ tall, he towers above the other spectators; a good illustration, in my opinion of the previous year and the effect it will have on the coming year.  For we have only begun to see the effect the “Arab Spring”, the Fukushima meltdown, and the current middle-East stand-off (and other 2011 events) will have on the months ahead. http://www.news.com.au/world/giant-spotted-at-funeral-of-north-koren-leader-kim-jong-il/story-e6frfkyi-1226233344857

For those of us who understand Bible prophecy, we know these are the things the Bible refers to as “birth pangs”.  And, 2011, if nothing else, was a year for pushing us closer than ever before to the final events that will culminate in the return of Jesus Christ.

2012 will be a year unlike any other. Not because of the Mayans, Nostradamus or any other prognosticators, but, because of the sure word of God.

I don’t know how much time is left, most likely not much. I’ll leave the numbers crunching for those who are much better at it than I would be. For me, its enough to know that it is soon.

My prayer for you and for myself, is that you would be grounded in the word of God, and, that you would find peace and joy, in spite of a world that appears to have gone crazy, knowing that God is in control; God is still on his throne.

And, as always –

“Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper who love thee”  Psalm 122:6

Watching and waiting with YOU for the soon return of Jesus!  Cindy

  1. Blessings to you Cindy, & to all my sisters & brothers in Christ! May we all stand strong in our faith & long on bent knees praying & worshiping the King of Kings & the Lord of Lords!! May we all continue to find each other & fellowship with one another in sites such as this. Cindy…may He hold you ever so close & keep you safe in His almighty hands. One thing is certain…He led me to this site & has ministered to me in ways that are so profound …there is simply no way to describe it…and it all started here in 2011, so praise the Lord..shout it out loud…”bring it on in 2012..we have been made ready!”

    with abundant love in Christ,

    Bee

[Thank you Bee for writing! It’s always a pleasure to hear from you, I love your enthusiasm, it really gives me a lift! Thank you too for keeping me in your prayers, I very much appreciate it! May God bless and keep you safe as well! In his abundant grace, Cindy]

[Unbelievable, even Hitchcock couldn’t have thought this one up – very strange! C]

  3. Happy new year, Cindy! There seems to be little hope outside of “in Jesus”! He is our hope and sure foundation in a time where nothing is certain. I find myself thinking everyday…this could be the day… (1) when we see Jesus face to face in all His glory; (2) when we are really, truly, broke and unable to buy anything; (3) when world war III starts. These things all seem so imminent. Let us all pray, not only for the peace of Jerusalem, but for our brothers and sisters in Christ worldwide. We need to pray for strength to stand in our faith, strength to stand against the evil that is growing and becoming so imposing, strength to carry the cross that He has given us; and the ability to love and forgive in a way not natural to mankind.
I believe we will be seeing real persecution soon, so we must all be praying for each other. I believe our ability to share worldwide via the internet is going to be compromised. I wish those of us who have connected on the internet had a way to keep in touch when that happens. Anyone have any ideas? Glad you are back from the mainland and looking forward to where the spirit leads you in your writing this year. God bless…

    Kim

[Very well said, Kim! I think the same things too! As far as keeping in touch should the internet be shut down or electronics fail, I’m not sure what we would do. It would certainly be devastating to those of us who have built a community of friends via the world wide web. A return to snail mail, perhaps ???? I don’t know. One thing is for sure, this year will be unlike any other …. let us do our best to hold each other up in prayer. Grace and blessings for a Happy and joyous New Year! Cindy]

  4. Cindy,

The blackbirds happened again this year, too.
Thousands of Dead Birds Fall from Sky in Town For Second New Year’s Eve in a Row
Best part is they can’t ignore this because all the excuses they tried to chalk it up to last year proved false: “A flash hail storm or massive lightning strikes were all discussed as possibilities as well.

All three theories have been debunked, however, as the weather was calm in Arkansas last night and police even imposed an impromptu firework ban in an effort to prevent it from happening again. “

[Thanks Jay, I find this to be very, very strange. Why those particular birds and that particular location ??? Another indication, I believe, that the coming year is going to be anything but, normal. We best pay attention! Grace and blessings! C]

  5. Hauʻoli Makahiki Hou Sistah !

Indeed, this will be a VERY interesting year, as we weatch the stage being set before our eyes for the fulfilment of His word….the Psalm 2 war and the Isaiah 17 destruction of Damascus soon to be the headlines, as it appears…

“The joy of the LORD is our strength”, no matter what !

The horse is prepared against the day of battle: but safety is of the LORD
    Proverbs 21:31

God bless ya sis and all who’s faith is in HIm…

    aloha, kauaiguy/Jim

[Hau’oli Makahiki Hou Bruddah! (Happy New Year Brother) – I confess, I had to look it up – this haole has been here for 12 years and is still learning! Yes, any day now, we can expect to see headlines regarding the Psalm 83 war, the destruction of Damascus and much, much more. We best be prepared! And, the way we prepare is by having our hearts and minds stayed on him! Mahalo for writing! From the “Gathering Place” to the “Garden Isle”, grace and blessings! C]
