The Land of Plenty
Today shoppers are busy filling their carts with cranberries, sweet potatoes, turkey and pumpkin pies, already loosening their belts a notch or two for the one day of the year notorious for over-eating.
We love Thanksgiving and why not, for it is at the heart of who we are as Americans. Instilled early in our national heritage (Plymouth, Massachusetts, 1621), the idea of sharing and giving thanks to God for all that he has supplied in this land of plenty has long been at the heart and the soul of this great nation.
And, while many today see Thanksgiving as not much more than a great day for football and the kick-off to another holiday shopping season, others, remember the true meaning of the day and give thanks.
With that in mind, I am thanking God for all of you and the friends that we have become through the format of this blog. I pray that each of you has a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving filled with good food, family, friends and the spirit of Jesus Christ. For those of you, who may be alone this holiday season, remember this, (and, I speak from experience, as my family lives far away), when, we have Jesus, we may be lonely at times, but, we are never alone. And, for those of you, who have room for one more at the table, I encourage you to make that invitation, believe me, it means the world to someone else.
1 Chronicles 29:11-13
“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, O LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.
Wealth and honor come from you; you are the ruler of all things. In your hands are strength and power to exalt and give strength to all.
Now, our God, we give you thanks, and praise your glorious name.” (KJV)
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper who love thee” Psalm 122:6
Watching and waiting with YOU for the soon return of Jesus! Cindy
With gratitude to our Lord Jesus for the insights He gives you to share with us all Cindy, may you and yours have a wonderful day together giving thanks!

Thanks Cindy, thought you might like this…
Edward Winslow’s account, which he wrote in a letter dated December 12, 1621.
Our corn did prove well, and God be praised, we had a good increase of Indian corn, and our barley indifferent good, but our peas not worth the gathering, for we feared they were too late sown. They came up very well, and blossomed, but the sun parched them in the blossom. Our harvest being gotten in, our governor sent four men on fowling, that so we might after a special manner rejoice together after we had gathered the fruit of our labors. They four in one day killed as much fowl as, with a little help beside, served the company almost a week. At which time, amongst other recreations, we exercised our arms, many of the Indians coming amongst us, and among the rest their greatest king Massasoit, with some ninety men, whom for three days we entertained and feasted, and they went out and killed five deer, which they brought to the plantation and bestowed on our governor, and upon the captain and others. And although it be not always so plentiful as it was at this time with us, yet by the goodness of God, we are so far from want that we often wish you partakers of our plenty.

Among the MANY things that I am thankful for I would say that more so this year than ever before, I am so thankful for the watchmen & women that my Father has set before me…the ones that He has actually led me to in such a fashion that it in it’s self is a testament to His unfailing love for me. This year at the table when I bow before Him, I will be thanking Him for my dear sister Cindy & many others that have stayed the course with all its diversions … so have a wonderful Thanksgiving day, you & your family are in my prayers. Hey, maybe tomorrow is THE DAY? You know dear sister, I have been looking for Him now every day for many days, & I am like you in that with each day that passes, we are indeed one day closer to His shout !! I just don’t see how anyone that has been watching & waiting could just give up because of a delay that “we” think is just too much for us to bear…I always feel like the delay only adds to the excitement of the suspense, to the climatic build up, to the mystery of His return !! My oil doth run over!! May His peace & love be heavy on you!!

Cindy, hope your Thanksgiving was blessed (and everyone else here, too). I am thankful to God for blogs like this to meet like-minded followers of YHWH and where we can encourage each other to dig deeper into the Word and to praise Him for all He has done and will do! Blessed be His Name!
