A Frankenstein Generation

    the monster

It was during the cold, dreary summer of 1816, that Mary Shelley first conceived the idea for her well-known novel, (later to be popularized in numerous Hollywood films), Frankenstein.  The world at the time of her writing was in the grip of what is referred to as, “the year without a summer” due to the eruption of Mount Tambora in 1815.  It was into these cold dark times that the nineteenth century was born, a century that would bring forth not only an explosion in technological advancements, but, an explosion of interest in Spritism and all things supernatural (the occult), as well.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spiritism

As interest in mediums, seances and old-fashioned ghost stories grew in popularity so, did the advancement of the sciences leading to the technological age in which we live today. In fact, the two grew up so closely and so rapidly together, it was not long before the two became intermingled, effectively blurring the lines between one and the other.

It was during this period that Mary Shelley and her friends set out to see who could write the best supernatural story. By Mary Shelley’s own account, the idea for Frankenstein came to her in a waking dream.  And, what began as a short story was completed as the novel “Frankenstein, or the Modern Prometheus” and first published on January 1, 1818.  It’s interesting to note that Shelley’s friend John Polidori would also go on to achieve phenomenal success with his novel “The Vampyre” first published in 1821. It was from the success of his story that a romanticism and fascination with vampires would grow into a popularity that borders on obsession to this very day.

Frankenstein is the story of a young doctor by the name of Victor Frankenstein, who sets out to create life from an assemblage of dead body parts, which he has accumulated -not all of which, were human.  Eventually successful in his endeavor, it is not long before he finds out that the creature he has created is nothing short of a monster.  Neither human nor animal, he is a pathetic and pitiful creature with no place in society and with no peers of his own; who, in loneliness and desperation, by the end of the story, seeks murderous revenge against the very man who created him.    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Frankenstein

The idea for this post came from the headlines a few days ago:  150 human animal hybrids grown in UK labs

It is outrageous to think that money is being funded to labs such as the one in the UK (and be assured, this is not the only one) for the supposed advancement of science for the benefit of mankind.  Scientific experiments of this kind are not only deplorable and grotesque, they are an abomination to a Holy God, for which, those involved will one day be judged.

Scientific experimentation in this realm is in direct violation of God’s command that each should multiply after its own kind. In the Levitical law, any human found having sexual relations with an animal was to be killed, along with the animal. (Leviticus 18).

The mingling of seed, whether human with fallen angels or human with animal, are an abomination before God and are straight out of the pit of hell.  Some believe that God would never allow these human animal hybrids to live or reach any kind of maturity. But, that may not be necessarily so.  Consider this:

“When the lamb opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, Come!  I looked and there before me was a pale horse! Its rider was named Death, and Hades was following closely behind  him.  They were given power over a fourth of the earth to kill by sword,  famine and plague and by the wild beasts of the earth.”  Revelation 6:8

If you notice in the verse above, the pale horse of death and hades includes those who are killed by sword, famine, plague and the wild beasts of the earth.  Why would that be? Animals normally have an instinctive fear of humans and try to avoid us whenever possible. What is interesting is that the word beast in this passage is the same word used in Revelation 13 to describe the anti-christ – the beast rising out of the earth.  Now we know that the anti-Christ is not a beast in the sense that animals are beasts, so, what kind of beast is he? The greek word used in both of these passages is  therion, which could mean animal, but, is also a metaphor for a brutal, bestial, savage, ferocious man. (Thanks to my daughter Seven Stars for pointing this out to me!)

Spiritism is alive today. Watch any popular talk show and you will see it in the form of Eastern mysticism (because both share a belief in reincarnation), necromancy (contacting the dead),  channeling, meditation, ESP (which includes remote viewing), astral travel, self-help and self-hypnosis, UFO’s and much, much more!

Like the Mary Shelley novel, there is a very thin fine line between scientific advancement and the occult. The scientific community and our government has as much interest in the things of the occult as does the general public, if not more so, because, what they seek is power.  When the line between science and the occult is crossed, you can be assured the results will be more horrific than anyone could imagine.

As believers in these final days, may we make certain that we have no part in any activity that smacks of these things. God makes it clear that we are to keep the holy separated from that which is profane.

I was reading from Zephaniah this morning and came across this verse, I think it applies.

“I will stretch out my hand against Judah …. I will cut off from this place every remnant of Baal, the names of the pagan and the idolatrous priests — those who bow down on the roofs to worship the starry host, those who bow down and swear by the Lord and who also swear by Molech …”

Who swear by the Lord and also swear by Molech!!!!  Folks, there is no gray area here. No vestiges of these occult practices have any place in the life of a Christian. Don’t indulge yourself or your family with them.  They are dangerous and God will bring to account any who choose to dabble in them. Do not attempt to mingle the holy with the profane.

It’s sad to say, but, these practices are becoming common in the church today.  Even gay marriage falls within this umbrella as God called each to multiply after its own kind.  Each after its own kind!  Whenever we attempt to change the God ordered structure, we are in very big trouble!  We are a Frankenstein generation!  We have assembled and mingled that which seems right in our own eyes, and what we are creating is a Frankenstein like monster, who like the pathetic creature of the Mary Shelley novel, will one day seek revenge on the very generation that created it.  May God have mercy!

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, they shall prosper who love thee”  Psalm 122:6   Watching and waiting with YOU for the soon return of Jesus!  Cindy

  1. Hi Cindy,

I bought a coffee this morning they had a television running in the shop. It had a group of has been celebrities sitting around a table with oversized coffee cups. One of them started mocking the book of Leviticus to the reply of an audience laugh track.

I can no longer express the depth of my disappointment with modern cultural trends.

The storm approaches, spiritually it is already here, and some people want to be human lightning rods. Well hell is hot and eternity long, they will receive what they ask for.

Though, I pray they would repent and escape the wrath to come.

  2. Cindy,

This brings to mind the movie, “Splice” which came out a year or two ago, I think. When I saw the trailer for it, I commented somewhere that that very thing was happening somewhere in some laboratory, and now here we are.

Some things are so innocuous that we have no idea if it is an idol, an abomination or one of the “profane” things that God will hold us accountable for (if you know what I mean). It is only by deep introspection into our hearts and souls and the guidance of the Holy Spirit that we will know our true motives. I pray often that God will convict me and forgive me of anything that I am unaware of in my life that is not in alignment with His purposes for me.

The world is becoming more and more treacherous every minute. I so don’t want to be a part of it that sometimes I just want to hide somewhere. However, I KNOW that nothing will touch me that God does not want to touch me. EVERYTHING in my life is allowed by God, and if I love Him; then I must trust Him. I must rest in the assurance that He only desires good for me.

I am blessed everytime I read your blog. Thank you for keeping us aware and watching with us.

With Love and Blessing to You

    Kim

  3. Great topic, Cindy, and excellent timing. The 21st century seems to be starting out much like the 19th, from what we know about it! But, with the technological advancements making these days much more frightening, as their old nightmares are now our reality.

Across the Atlantic from Mary Shelley, American author Edgar Allan Poe was very much a part of the same generation she was, as Edgar was a small boy when the eruption of Tambora occurred. It is amazing what spiritual darkness covered the world as the ash from this eruption spread world-wide. I wasn’t aware that Mary Shelley “received” her idea in a waking dream, i.e. a vision; this fact is especially frightening. The publication date of Frankenstein that you mentioned, January 1, 1818, is also frightening in that it could be written as:

    1/1/6+6+6 6+6+6

I doubt if this is coincidental; therefore, I am suspicious that publication might have been purposely delayed.

I have read of the 150 human animal hybrids in British labs. How appalling! There have been strong voices of opposition raised by many in the British government, to their credit, but of course they will be ignored or silenced. I just wonder how much of this is going on right here in the US; we don’t exactly have the most transparent federal government. And, yes, many in our government seek power through the occult, but the ultimate power will come, they believe, from their own transformation into immortal gods when they reach the highest levels. This is not my favorite “end times” topic, by any means, it is all so incredibly disturbing.

Great point about the “beasts” of Revelation, Cindy. This is certainly something to watch.

You and Kim both talked about the occult practices, and idols, which are all around us. My understanding of this topic has been greatly enhanced by my reading of David Wilkerson’s “Set The Trumpet To Thy Mouth”, which I am still not finished with but recommend strongly.

Thanks so much, Cindy. Abundant blessings to you, dear sister,

    Carlos

  4. Hi Cindy

Reading your post I was thinking of 2 articles I read recently in a popular magazine in my country. The one was of a woman who married her dog and the other of a couple who had their little pet monkey baptized by their local pastor.

The lines are blurred more every day. A marriage not being seen as holy between a man and woman anymore and animals being baptized?

Thank you for all your dedication and hard work. May the Lord bless you and keep you.

    Sandra

  5. Cindy,
It does look like that there is direct relationship with man’s quest for understanding apart from the knowledge of God and his depravity in seeking ti find solutions apart from him as well. This seems to be working to draw men away from the truth and ultimately it is Satan’s plan to destroy God Image.

    2 Timothy 3

1This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

2For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

3Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

    4Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

5Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

6For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts,

7Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.

  6. Excellent. Kind of reminds me of the feet of Daniel’s statue (clay and iron..mixed). Yes, I can’t tell you how many times Christians tell me there is no big deal mixing the holy with the profane. I don’t get what they don’t get. If I take a dirty glass and fill it with pure water, the water will become filthy. If I take a clean glass and fill it with dirty water…same thing, dirty. Mixing equals fith.

    Your Sister in Christ

  7. On the spiritual aspect Cindy, once the restrainer is taken away as written about in 2Thess 7, then will the green light been given to the antichrist to bring forth all kinds of false miracles that will deceive those who did not receive the gospel of truth that was preached while the church was still here.

All kinds of the paranormal will come to fruition and the things which you gave example to are paving the way for antichrists kingdom, for this period will be a very dark one indeed, lasting for a period of 7 years.

As far as the beasts of the earth are concerned, and I seem to be noticing it more and more, is the invasion of foreign species unto different continents and crossbreeding to become more ferocious in nature. Animals too were effected by the fall of man and are subject to a fallen creation, who knows how they will react also, after the removal of the Holy Spirit, who lives inside the church.
