When I was a child growing up in rural south-east Utah, I remember that every evening before retiring to bed, my grandfather would check the barometer hanging on the living room wall to see what the weather was going to be the next day. “It’s going to snow”, he would say, “the pressure is really low”. Or, sometimes he would say rain, though usually it was snow, as we got a lot of that where I grew up. I marveled at this little instrument that always seemed to know what the weather was going to be, but, in time I began to understand why my grandfather and others, relied on it so.
Weather forecasting in those days was not nearly as sophisticated as it is now and for that reason, most people had better luck sticking their heads out their windows than listening to TV weather forecasters, who were just as apt to get it wrong as they were right. Unless, they had a barometer, that is. In a way, that’s a little bit like us, when it comes to trying to figure out where we are at on the prophetic time line.
The last few days, weeks, months there has been great excitement and speculation in regard to the timing of the rapture with dreams, visions and even license plate watching by some – including my self! As we have watched these dates come and go (with some disappointment), I think it would be well to remember that there is one and only one barometer of certainty, when it comes to knowing, where we are at and what we can expect in the coming days and that barometer is Israel.
On July 26, the UN Security council will meet in New York for discussion on the development of a Palestinian state with the possibility of a divided Jerusalem as its capital this September. Put to a vote, we have to ask ourselves, when the times comes will the United States stand with Israel ? Or not?
This is the real barometer, this is the real test – for the Bible tells us the day is coming, when all nations of the world will be against Israel. Brothers and sisters, we don’t have to wonder where we are at on the prophetic calendar. We know! We have the sure word of the Lord to guide us. The prophets as blessed as they were to see it, were no more blessed than we, who are living it! Though clouds may obscure our vision for a time, take heart in knowing, when, the barometer says, snow, it’s going to snow!
Therefore, brothers and sisters, remain encouraged and keep looking up! It won’t be long; in fact, I think, I just felt the first kiss of a wet snowflake on my cheek.

[Hi Michael, That would have been a good title for this post “the weather is changing” – and, boy, how it is – in more ways than one!! I was looking up information on Pleiades the other day and found it to be associated with the word “destroyer”. Can’t find the information now, but, I remember thinking at the time what a interesting connection that was. Also, found out the United States had a naval destroyer by that same name during WWII.
Speaking of Isaiah 26 – did you notice that verse 18 has to do with birth pangs, verse 19 with the dead rising and verse 20 with being hidden away – how cool is that!! Keeping watch with you! C]

I do so agree with you Cindy, because up until about 4 years ago, although I am learning it has been going on for a very long time, our nation was friend to Israel! I think we can all see that as it says in Ezekiel, “ALL NATIONS, will be against you, Oh Israel”. The breath and hope comes from the assurance that this is done for His purpose and for ALL to know that HE IS GOD OF ISRAEL and only HE can and will protect Israel! Amen!
[Thank you Tamra, God will protect Israel and he will defend his Holy word. The world is sliding in to very dangerous territory by pursuing the course they are on, sadly, the majority of folks have no idea. Keep praying! C]

Amen Cindy! Events regarding Israel, and especially the city of Jerusalem, are what we need to be watching. It’s so easy to get caught up in trying to find answers to our questions through other means besides the Bible. Yet everything we need to know and understand regarding the times we’re living in has already been recorded for us in His Word. Very soon we will meet face to face the one whose garments are white as snow; Jesus our Savior!

Your quote: the “barometer is Israel.” Yes – IT IS!
When I see articles on the timing being “way out there” I sit and shake my head – No No. We only need to watch Israel. Those “watching” are also coming under fire here in the US from satan like no other time in American history! My own barometer from all the problems that have come at me – says the timing has GOT to be close. There just isn’t any way our country can last for the extended period of time some people are forecasting.
If you are writing a true Christian blog – if you are a watchman reporting on the wall – you are UNDER GREAT FIRE right now. This is the group of “overcomers” that have little strength but are going the last mile – following Jesus everywhere He goes.
I am SO AMAZED at the number of Christians that have no idea what is going on. You mention the news – or mention the progression of our downfall here in the US and their faces show they are in absolute oblivion! They don’t want to hear the truth – they have turned it “all off.” They don’t have a clue about what is happening in Israel much less right here at home.

Thank you Cindy for that reminder. Impatient as I get wanting to go home I have to remind myself that we are so lucky to be living in this time. We are watching prophecy unfold every day and it is so very exciting! How Christians can be so blind I do not know. My own family (professing Christians) laugh at me and think I’m crazy. My husband says all I do is sit around waiting for something that’s never going to happen. We have the most anti-Israel president in history. Jesus is so close I can hear His footsteps. He is coming soon!!
[Hi Linda, it’s a mystery, it would appear that anyone who has not been living under a rock for the past couple of years could not help but, notice that the world is very strange these days, as LA Marzulli puts it, “not business as usual.” I think there is a lot of denial out there by Christians because they are simply not ready – they may be scared, therefore, they won’t touch the subject. I think all of us who are watching can testify that the more we learn and watch, the more comforted we are to know that God is fully in control.
