October has always been one of my favorite months. With warm days and cool nights, I remember with a great deal of nostalgia walking home from school in the afternoon, the crunch of dry autumn leaves beneath my feet, splashing and playing in piles of leaves with as much fun as any ocean wave could provide and the scent of the first fires of the season rising from home chimneys as the weather cooled and one season faded in to the other. And best of all, the last day of the month – the day for carving Jack O’ Lanterns, donning costumes and braving the cold to go door to door begging for candy.
I don’t carve Jack O’ Lanterns any more and the many calories and cavities contained in a large bag of candy scare me much more now than any witch flying on a broom ever could have and now as an adult and hopefully more mature Christian, I look at Halloween much differently than I did before. For one thing, I don’t view it in the benign, simplistic way I once did. And, without expounding to much more on that subject, will suffice it to say, that one of the things I have noticed recently is how many adults (not children) are completely obsessed with Halloween. What was once a novel thing for children, is now, a full-blown excuse for adults (children who have never grown up) to party and to go crazy. When I think about this, it reminds me of the verse from Revelation 18 – Babylon has become a haunt for demons and unclean spirits, but, evidently, (by virtue of the usage of the word, become) this was not always so.
The Bible talks a lot about Babylon and Mystery Babylon in very specific detail in both Revelation 17 & 18 and Jeremiah 50-52. Some scholars believe that Mystery Babylon refers not to Babylon of old, but, to a future country, place, people, or city which would embody the spirit of Babylon. The word mystery referring to something which was previously hidden; not yet revealed. Could Mystery Babylon refer to the United States? I can’t say for certain, but, I think there is enough compelling evidence to think it might be so.
Speaking of October, there has been a lot of talk about what some are referring to as an October Surprise preceding the November elections. A surprise which may include one of the following, if not all of them – 1) – the rapture of the church, 2) – a great earthquake, 3) – some kind of false flag event. From the many things I have been reading and studying, I am inclined to think that any one of these is a possibility – and, if not this month, most likely very soon.
I came across an article from American Thinker recently titled “The October Surprise is Coming” which I thought was very interesting. In the article, author Pamela Geller speculates about the possibility of a false flag event preceding this years November elections. For those who may not know, a false flag is an event staged by those in power in order to bring about any number of desired actions. In this case, it would be for suspending elections which would allow those in power to remain in power and would provide the opportunity for passing legislation which would curtail the rights of citizens under the auspices of national security in the wake of some terrible catastrophe.
Think it couldn’t happen? Some believe it already has with the destruction of the twin towers. And while, that particular fact may be debatable for some, the Reichstag fire of February 27, 1933 staged by the Nazi’s in pre-war Germany certainly is not and as history would testify was paramount in passing “the Enabling Act” and the “Reichstag Fire Edict’ which was instrumental in nullifying the civil liberties of German citizens under their constitution. http://www.americanthinker.com/2010/07/the_october_surprise_is_coming.html http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Reichstag_Fire_Decree
With this in mind, I have been intrigued recently by some who have suggested that the book of Revelation may not be in chronological order. I have no idea whether this may or may not be true, but, in looking at Revelation 17 & 18 recently, I came across a couple of things, which I believe at least add a little interest to the possibility.
Babylon is fallen, is fallen!
Mystery Babylon? Who is she?
Described in Rev. 17:2, Mystery Babylon is described as a great prostitute who sits on many waters with whom the kings of the earth have committed adulteries. A mystery of course is something which has been hidden, something not revealed until a later time – for that reason, I am inclined to believe that Mystery Babylon may not be the re-birth of Babylon of old, but, rather a place or people in the future who would embody the spirit of the old Babylonian system.
I think it was Ron Reese who I first heard suggest that the collapse of the twin towers could represent the fall of Babylon, with a second one to come – as is suggested in the wording of the verse – is fallen, is fallen. As I thought about that, I also thought it might be possible that the double “fallen, fallen” could refer to the two individual towers falling, each one falling separately, their destruction taking place in the space of an hour as scripture notes; the smoke from their burning witnessed by the whole world. If this is the case, perhaps, verse 21 speaks of a second judgment yet to come – “then, a mighty angel picked up a boulder the size of a large millstone and threw it into the sea and said: With such violence the great city of Babylon will be thrown down, never to be found again”. Could verse 21 – beginning, “then” – be suggestive of a second judgment – the second one completing the first which began on Sept 11, 2001?
The twin towers as we all know were located on the island of Manhattan. Manhattan is an interesting word which according to Wikipedia originates from a native american word which means, “island of many hills, a place of inebriation or a place where wood is available for making bows and arrows.” http://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manhattan
Interesting when you consider the words of Revelation 17, as the prostitute is described as a woman who sits on seven hills and although most believe this verse to be speaking of Rome, is it possible, that in this case, it might just be speaking of another city which sits on hills?
All the more interesting when you consider this –
The word Manhattan – “place of inebriation” – compare with Revelation 18:3 – “For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries.”

Halloween is a 3-day occult holiday – their BIG day of the year. It is their time for human sacrifice. A strike at midnight Halloween night would hit their 3-day holiday – their human sacrifice day AND November 1, 2010.

Was thinking about the phrase “a bird in the hand worth two in the bush” and wondered if it might be this – two towers fallen, (babylon fallen, fallen) during the Bush administration – a second judgment and more complete judgment yet to come as represented by the bird in the hand (the bird/eagle/United States) – haven’t figured out who or what the “hand” part might be yet – still mulling it over. Hello Cindy,
I have been catching your blog of late and enjoying it very much.
Regarding the subject here, I am persuaded that America is indeed Babylon n Revelations, and “the daughter of Babylon” in certain OT texts.

I was born in Manhattan, New York City and recently moved to Topeka Kansas, which is not too far from Manhattan, Kansas so naturally I was very interested in the Plum Island facility moving out here. Nothing was mentioned in the local papers here so it must be pretty secretive as many things are these days. Well the Lord actually called my wife and I to this area and we are praying for direction and guidance as to what God wants for us. Please keep us in your prayers. God Bless!

Regarding “Mystery Babylon”, wouldn’t the parable of the 10 virgins come to mind as a contrast to a ‘whore’ ? Five were seekers of the kingdom (they had all the oil they needed), five were ambivalent (they had errands to run). Here is pointed out a woman (a church/city) that has spiritually fornicated with all nations — she has no intention of ever having a husband. The catholic church has a long history of integrating the pagan rituals (of many different peoples) into their practice. That church has a long history of involvement in politics, starting from the “blessing of Charlamagne”. And today, there is the Vatican city, and the only ‘church’ with a US embassy. They are spread through many nations. And lastly, they make the explicit claim that their chosen leader is the ‘Vicar of Christ’.
It just seems to fit very well. America, which clearly labels itself as an eagle has become ‘just another beast’. I think we were the eagle that has now been given the heart of a man (Dan 7:4).

Rev 17:7 And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns.
There are 4 divisions or aspects in the verse,
1st. THE WOMAN – I believe she represents the false religious systems that have been here since the Nimrod and the tower of Babel. It is demonic in origin, but often comes as an angel of light to try and deceive to who would be seeking truth and righteousness.
Note, in Rev 13:1 that the beast rising out of the sea does not have the women riding it. This unholy union of the beast and the union happens prior to their destruction, and because of their union, they are thereafter referred to as the same. Not unlike “and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”
2nd. THE BEAST THAT CARRIETH HER – This is actually the final manifestation of the beast that has existed since the birth of the Nation of Israel. It is linked to Israel, for as Israel was, and then was not because Rome destroyed it, yet Israel is. The same is said therefore of the beast. “And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.”
3rd. THE SEVEN HEADS – Are the historical progression of nations which have had a direct influence and effect upon the Israelites. The angel said 5 were fallen, many in Israel’s then past.
They are:
1. Egypt
2. Assyria
3. Babylon
4. Medes/Persia
5. Greece
Daniel mentions the last three in his visions, including the next, which is Rome. Therefore Rome is head #6. Daniel is silent about Egypt and Assyria two because they were already history – before the of his time of ministry.
The 7th empire would have to of been those in possession of the land when the Israelites began to migrate back to their land after World War 2. That would have been the British Empire. Therefore the 7th is England.
However, the mentioning of the SEVEN HEADS are just to give us ” the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is [Rome], and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he [England] must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of [from] the seven, and goeth into perdition.”
It is the 8th beast that “goeth into perdition” that Rev. 13-19 is mainly dealing with.
4th. THE TEN HORNS – Represents the unification of Europe, the old Roman Empire. It is they who “shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire. For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled.”

Hey Cindy,
I would encourage you to look into an exhaustive search on the words “MYSTERY”. You will find there is a good musterion and a bad one. Also look into the word “BABYLON”. It’s a name that breaks down the the word “confusion”.
Consider looking into the tower of Babel. What did they say? “Come, let us make a name for oursleves.” This looks alot like churches today, building a name for themselves. Are churches these days focussing on the same YHWH today, that once threw down the tower of Babel? Giving all glory and honor to him?
Just as man offered to build tabernacles for the two saints he saw in the sky before Jesus’ transformation, so man still builds the towers of Babylon while in confusion.

I appreciate your comment about Babylon meaning confusion and I agree that the body of Messiah must be careful that the labor we do is really for him and about him and not about our egos. What happened at the transfiguration of Jesus though was not about that. When the disciples saw his glorified body, they believed the Messianic kingdom was about to start and excitedly wanted to build two Sukkah’s, (the small temporary shelters
built during the Feast of Tabernacles – symbols of the Messianic Kingdom)but, it wasn’t time yet – Jesus the Passover Lamb had to die before the Messianic Kingdom could arrive – the disciples got a little over excited – I think I would have too! Blessings in Yeshua! Cindy

What I was referring to origionally was our brother Peter offering to make tabernacles (the same thing the false church does, but we know its not about where we dwell, but how…). Instead, for their correction, God just wants us to follow his Son, Jesus Christ, listening to his commandments.

Hi Cindy,
I came across your blog through Carlos’ blogroll and I got to this post from another site where you posted a comment. What made me look into this is your mention of “October Surprise.” This morning I had a word from the Lord which says, “Oct. 7, the 7th Seal.” The possible message is that the 7th Seal in Revelation 8:1 may be opened on October 7, but when is that specifically, is the question. I had earlier words in March which says, “during Yom Kippur…” and “Yom Kippur bread is also 64.” Looking up the number 64 on Bible Wheel, it says of Truth, Judgment, Nations, etc. Then checking Yom Kippur dates if one falls on October 7, interestingly last year’s Yom Kippur fell on Oct. 7.
I received another message from Him this morning, Philippine time, which the Lord said, “I will release 15,000 people to pour out my grace.” While pondering and asking Him what He meant, He spoke again and said, “I am releasing 25,000 more so that they can be freed from the judgment in the land.” First I thought He meant those who would be spared from the judgment befalling in the land so I said, “Who are these people Lord? Certainly that’s a really very small number. Fortunate are those counted.” He responded, “You have been anointed.” Praise God!!! Then it dawned on me that He is actually saying He is releasing such number of people to spread the message across the land, to prepare for the impending judgment. I believe then, He’s not only talking of America or my country the Philippines, but the whole world.
I have been receiving prophetic words, dreams and visions from the Lord since 2009 though the frequency increased only in early 2011. I started my blog only late last month when the Lord kept prompting me to do it, which I finally obeyed.
