A Hummingbird named Claudio

++++++++++++++

I’m a worrier. Not habitually so but lately I’ve found myself waking up in the middle of the night to worry. Maybe you can relate to that. Worry over this and worry over that – most of which we have no control over anyway but that doesn’t seem to stop us – or at least me.

I was having coffee with my husband this morning when I said to him “I had a very odd dream last night and what is really funny is that my hearing impairment was part of it”. “Really,” he said. Probably not all that interested but knowing I was going to tell him anyway he took another sip of his coffee and waited for me to launch in to my story.

So, this was it – the dream

My husband and I were caring for a very young baby – a new born. It was not ours and how I knew that I don’t know. I just did. We weren’t its parents we were just caring for it. Wrapped in baby blankets it was quietly and contentedly sleeping. I asked my husband “what’s its name?” He answered and I thought he said “Oreo” “Oreo” I replied. “What kind of name is Oreo?” “Not Oreo” he said shaking his head knowing I come up with the craziest things when I don’t hear him correctly – “not Oreo; Claudio”.

End of dream

CLAUDIO

So, when I got up this morning I looked up the name Claudio and found out that it means lame. Interesting, but why would the baby in the dream have a name which meant lame? I was about to find out.

So, my husband finished his coffee and went out to set the water on our lawn. A few minutes later he called me to come to look at something. Walking outside, he pointed at a green plastic lawn chair. At first, I couldn’t see what he was pointing at but as I drew closer I could see a fluff ball of feathers sitting on the corner of the chair. It was a baby hummingbird. He was drawn into a ball but his eyes were bright and he was very much alive. We thought for sure as we got close that he would fly away but it soon became evident that he didn’t because he was not able to. Did he have a broken wing or was he simply too weak to fly? We didn’t know.

My husband suggested trying to give him some sugar water so I got a small syringe and tried dropping some on his beak. I mostly succeeded in creating a puddle of sugar water around him but he did open his beak a few times to try to get a few drops. I walked away and a few minutes later I looked and he was gone. I called to my husband to tell him that Claudio was gone – thinking the few drops of sugar water I gave him had rejuvenated him enough to fly but when my husband walked over he pointed to the grass and there he was – right next to the chair on the ground. Obviously, he had attempted to fly but didn’t make it far.

I was getting ready to go into town so I left my husband home to tend to the bird. I was just hoping our neighborhood cat known as “Mr. Dibbles” didn’t come calling. He’s a very loveable cat but a real killer when it comes to rodents, snakes and things- including baby birds if given the chance.

A couple of hours later I messaged my husband to see how things were going with the bird. He told me that he had moved him out of the sun using a fly swatter to lift him up. Once he had him in the shade he began to give him sugar water from the petals of a red flower but that hadn’t worked so well. So, instead he began to put the water on the tip of his finger and to his surprise little Claudio licked it all up. Every now and then he would make a high pitched squeak which brought another hummingbird (most likely the mama) swooping in at the speed of lightning making it obvious that she was not far off watching over her baby.

A few minutes later, my husband went inside to get a drink. When he came back out the bird was gone. He searched the lawn carefully but did not find the bird any where. Maybe it really had flown away. Was it injured? Or perhaps just weak and dehydrated. We’ll never know for sure. But, we like to think he made it.

++++++++++++++

I mentioned the dream to my daughter followed by the bird story. I had not made any connection between the two – but she sure did!

She felt like the dream and the bird incident were an object lessen about worry.

“The baby bird” she said, “is Claudio from your dream.” God knows you have been worrying about your children and grandchildren and he intends to show you how very much aware he is of every little bird that falls. And more than that he is proving how he can and will use even the most unlikely source – in this case two humans to feed a helpless hummingbird from the tips of their fingers.

My husband had this to say –

“It would be impossible to measure the tiny amount of nectar little Claudio received from our feeding – but it was enough – enough to get him back in the air. God’s word does the same for us – sometimes even just a word is enough to pick us up and get us going again”.

Thanking God for little Claudio and the very important lesson the Lord brought to us through him.

Coveting Naboth’s Vineyard 2.0

+++++++++++++

On the evening of August 8th fire broke out in the historic and quaint seaside town of Lahaina Hawaii. With the gusting of winds from the passing of Hurricane Dora some 500 miles to the south the fire was quickly out of control – so quickly that people were forced to jump into the ocean to escape being incinerated. Unfortunately, many were trapped and unable to escape the inferno that so fiercely and mercilessly engulfed them. By the time the fire was out four days would have passed with thousands displaced and hundreds still missing and unaccounted for in a scene that can only be described as something out of the apocalypse.

Fact or Fiction

Initially, I thought this fire was an unfortunate but natural disaster. Hurricane Dora was passing to the South and while some folks claim there was no wind generated from this storm others say otherwise. I checked with two of my friends on Oahu who told me it had been very windy. I also know from living in the islands for 14 years that the leeward side of any island is particularly dry as mountain ranges prevents the dropping of moisture by clouds as they pass from the windward to leeward side. Brush fires in all islands are common due to the dry conditions and wind …that being said… I have since concluded that the fire in Lahaina (in spite of all this) was not a result of these conditions.

Echoes of Paradise Lost

In March 2012 I wrote a three part series titled Echoes of Paradise Lost – parts one, two and three. In part two, I recount how the Hawaiian Monarchy was over thrown at gun point by mainland businessmen and Queen Liliukolani’s heartfelt plea to the Christian people of the United States to intervene in what she termed “coveting Naboths Vineyard” – a recent convert to Christianity she was familiar with the Bible story from 1 Kings chapter 21 where Ahab and Jezebel kill Naboth to take his vineyard from him when he wouldn’t sell it to them. Unfortunately, her pleas went unheeded and the Monarchy was deposed and the territory of Hawaii was annexed against their will and on August 12, 1898 the Hawaiian flag was lowered and (replaced with an American flag) never to fly again.

What’s in a Date

The American flag was hoisted over Iolani Palace in Honolulu (see the caption under picture at top of page) 125 years almost to the day that the Lahaina fire was finally extinguished (August 12/13). Now how much of that is coincidence I can’t say. But it is indeed interesting.

YouTube

I’ve been watching a lot of YouTube videos regarding this event over the past few days. I’ve read some main stream news but because I don’t get cable I’m spared the version the mainstream media is pushing. There are two YouTube channels that have done a fantastic job (in my opinion) in asking the right questions and getting the back story that most people are not even aware of. The back story is so important to understanding the how, why and when regarding this fire. Once you grasp that every thing else falls in to place. So, a big thank you to them and those who take the time to comment in the comments section as I have gained much of my information from them. That coupled with the fact that I lived in the islands for 14 years gives me a bit of intuition you might say about some of the things that have happened. I did not live on Maui (I lived on Oahu) but visited Lahaina twice. So. I have perhaps a small amount of insight in understanding exactly what has happened here. I’ll leave information at the bottom as to the two YouTube channels I have been watching as well as to my blog posts Echoes of Paradise Lost for those who are interested. And I strongly recommend taking the time to check out those YouTube channels as you’ll find a lot of information there.

A Brief Run Down of Some of the Things Discussed in the Videos – and how and why they may be contributing factors

1) The fire was sudden and intense catching almost every one off guard.

2) No warning sirens were sounded in spite of the fact that tsunami sirens are tested monthly which all local residents are familiar with.

3) The fire burned so hotly that the the aftermath looked as if a bomb had gone off. Yet some trees were standing.

4) Hawaii is committed to clean energy and sees itself as a leader in the movement.

5) Governor Josh Green is committed to environmental issues. From the Governors page –

**********

6) The media is hotly contesting the theory floated by the tin foil hat gang that the fire was intentionally started by DEW (Direct Energy Weapon) in order to make way for a futuristic 15 minute city.

7) Celebrities are buying up huge tracts of lands on the islands. Oprah just purchased 870 acres for 6.6 million dollar on Maui. A steal when you figure the price per acre.

8) Native Hawaiians and locals are resistant to selling.

9) And who can forget the bizarre green lasers that appeared over Hawaii on January 28th.

Summary

It is my opinion that the Maui fire was not a naturally occurring event. I also believe that Lahaina would be the perfect place due to its location and aging infrastructure for wiping the slate clean in order to build perhaps the worlds first clean energy and sustainable 15 minute city. The fact that it was a historically important part of Hawaiian history and that generations of native Hawaiians call it home is simply beside the point. They don’t care. It does not hold any meaning for them in regard to their agenda and we can see by the persistent drive towards erasing history that this is true. History of any people (by their way of thinking) has no place in the coming new world order. And like the businessman who stole the Monarchy in the last generation for their purposes these men are likewise guilty of the sin of coveting Naboths garden hence the title of this post Coveting Naboths Garden 2.0. They know full well the native Hawaiians that live in the area will never voluntarily leave their ancestral home and culture for any amount of money. So, where money won’t talk the big stick will.

President Biden has offered those who lost everything a one time payment of $700.00 – the money should be thrown back in his face- what an insult! They know full well these people cannot afford to rebuild plus there are no jobs there anyway (with everything burned) even if they did. So, the vultures swoop in and offer a million dollars for your property. What are you going to do? Even with a million dollars you could never afford beach front property in Hawaii again – you’d be lucky to get a condo in the middle of the island or even better yet (according to them) take the money and move to the mainland. Too many people in Hawaii as it is anyway, right?

Well, they can decry the tin foil hat people all they want. The truth will be evident in what happens next and I can almost assure you they are licking their chops at getting those bull dozers rolling so they can get on with their plans. And they have big plans, very big plans.

My previous posts titled Echoes of Paradise Lost parts one, two or three can be found by simply googling them. The YouTube channels can be found the same way – just use the YouTube search bar. One is called Minutes of Horror (I know, wild name, huh) and the other is The End of the Beginning. They make lots of videos so you may have to scroll through to find the ones you want to watch.

Any thoughts or questions feel free to share in the comments section and as always-

Do You Remember?

We’ve had scorching temperatures across the Southwest for at least the past month. But Sunday night a little storm blew through that produced a whopping 1/4 inch of rain for us. But evidently in the higher country they saw a sudden if brief torrential rain that brought down massive amounts of red dirt from the surrounding hills in to the Animas River. And from the looks of it you could almost say it had turned blood red.

My daughter and I were driving the short distance from where we live in New Mexico to Durango Colorado when we noticed the river. I’ve lived here ten years and have never seen the river quite so red after a rain storm. It reminded me of a post I had written a few years ago when the Animas River turned a ghastly shade of yellow from a mine spill. I was telling her about it as we were driving but could not quite remember the details or the name of the post I had written. Anyhow, I asked her to pull over so I could snap a picture. So after finding a pullout she stopped the car and I got out. Apparently, I was not the only one curious enough to stop as another car had pulled over as well where a man and woman were standing looking at the river.

On getting out I mentioned to the man that in all the years I had lived in the area I had never seen the river such a muddy shade of red before and he agreed. I asked him where he lived and he said that he and his wife were from the same vicinity as myself in Northern New Mexico. He then went on to ask me if I remembered when the Animas was contaminated from the mine spill and I said I did – in fact, I had just mentioned it to my daughter before we pulled over. He went on to say he was a truck driver and witnessed firsthand how the river (according to him) was actually glowing from the materials spilt in to it.

When I got home I looked up my post regarding this incident and found it interesting that I had written it on August 16, 2015 – although the incident itself happened a few days earlier on the 5th – the anniversary of which is just 4 days from now. In a post titled A Time to Prepare – I had this to say under the subtitle Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs – and here is what I wrote:

Signs, Signs, Everywhere Signs –

“Not a biblical sign per se, but, I have been watching with interest the contamination of the Animas River here where I live. On August 5, a variety of heavy metals from the long defunct Gold King Mining operation flooded into the Animas River turning its normally clear waters a brackish shade of yellow/orange. And, while the waters have now cleared up (at least on the surface) there are reports that in addition to the massive contamination of August 5 there are also some 230 old mines in the area which have been leaking heavy metals in to this river and others for years with a reported 40 percent of river headwaters in the West affected by it. Wow!  And no one is monitoring the situation or doing anything about it. Well, given the mining history of the area, its actually no surprise – but, what I do find interesting is this:

The mine: The Gold King Mine

The river: The Animas (Spanish for spirit, soul– our English word animated would be a derivative of it).

The river down stream that it flowed in to likewise contaminating: The San Juan (Spanish for St. John – as in St. John, the apostle and writer of the book of Revelation).Do you see a picture emerging? Gold, money, wealth, the things of this world polluting and contaminating the spirit to the point of rendering them useless and unfit as far as God’s kingdom is concerned. For the Bible tells us, one cannot serve both God and money”.

You can see here how the river was turned a sickly yellow at the time”.

And for some reason I either missed or didn’t include the following detail – the spill was the result of an accident by the EPA who was supposed to be cleaning up the area or at least mitigating the chances of something like this happening. The incident according to Wikipedia-

***********

So, that was yesterday the eve you might say of Tu b’ Av. We were unable to see the full moon last night due to cloud cover so that was kind of disappointing. And of course at the time of this writing we are still here- there was no full moon rapture on Tu b’ Av.

I’m not sure that the events that transpired yesterday had any meaning at all. It did seem odd that I had been speaking to my daughter about the spill trying to remember the details and what I had written about it when we encountered the man who spoke to me almost immediately using these words:

Do you Remember?

It truly seemed as if the Lord was bringing my attention back to that event and perhaps timing it to what we were seeing yesterday – but for what or why, I truly don’t know. Perhaps, the answer is yet to come.

A Full Moon Rapture

“My husband is not at home; he has gone on a long journey. He took his purse filled with money and will not be home till full moon.” Proverbs 7:19-20 NIV

I didn’t realize when I wrote my last post From Sorrow to Joy that Tu b’ Av falls on a full moon. Yes, Tu b’ Av – the 15th of Av (August 1st) is not only a full moon but a supermoon. The first of two full moons this month. The second one is August 30th which will be a blue moon. So these full moons more or less book end this month which is interesting but before we get to that let’s take a look at the verse above. *And just to be clear Tu b’ Av runs from Tuesday evening the 1st of August through Wednesday evening August 2.

“For the goodman is not at home, he is gone on a long journey. He has taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed”.

Now this is interesting. In the NIV it reads husband but in the KJV it is goodman. Where have we seen the term goodman before?

Well, from one thing it us a term used 6 times in scripture. Once in Proverbs and five times in the gospels by Jesus – twice in Matthew, once in Mark and twice in Luke. So what does the term goodman mean?

Well, according to Strongs (Hebrew/Greek Bible Concordance) the word means Husband or Master of the House.

So, looking at the Proverbs 7:19-20 verses the husband or Master of the House will return at the appointed time – and when are the appointed times according to scripture? You guessed it – at the full moon.

So, the goodman is due home at the full moon and we are looking at Tuesday August 1 – the first full moon of the month; a Supermoon. The day when virgins danced in the vineyards dressed in white in anticipation of being snatched away by the bridegroom.

Will this be our day of departure? I certainly can’t say for sure but I know that it could be. And that’s the beauty of these high watch days … knowing that it could be and that in my opinion is a blessing all of its own. So, enjoy the thought of the goodmans return and as always….

From Sorrow to Joy

Twelve years ago I wrote a post titled A Day of Sorrow A Day of Joy. With Tu b’ av just 6 days away I thought it might be worth reposting. Aside from the mention of a Comet named Honda that year every thing else is still pertinent. Will our sorrow be turned to joy just 6 days from now? I wouldn’t be a bit surprised. How about you?

Green Means – Go!

*************

A few days ago my husband and I received a phone call from our nephew living in California. He was calling to chat and share some things going on in his life. In the course of the phone call he happened to mention a rather peculiar dream he had recently and wanted to run it by us. He also happened to mention that this.was very odd because he almost never dreams. He did feel as if it had something to do with the rapture but beyond that he wasn’t quite sure.

Once I heard the details of the dream I was simply floored and knew it was something that I would want to write on – so here it is. A big thank you to my daughter for help with interpretation. She seems to be particularly gifted in that area so I am very blessed to have her (and my other daughter as well) both who provide valuable insight and help into whatever I am writing on.

The Dream (In his words)

I had a dream or vision in my sleep last night.. it was completely dark and the calendar day September 15 was blinking in green and slow. Next an image of a Shofar was shown
blinking slow.

******

The calendar day September 25 started to blink in green and was slow. An image of a man and woman then appeared, they were wearing white robes. Their chests were hollowed out and they had a small flame inside their chests, blinking slow.

*******

The last calendar day shown was December 13 and it was blinking in green and slow. An image of a Menorah then appeared and was blinking slow.

End of dream

*******

Feast of Trumpets/ Rosh Ha Shana

Evening of Friday, September 15, 2023 – Sunday, September 17, 2023

The first segment of the dream features a green light slowly blinking in the darkness on which the date September 15th appears. This is accompanied by a shofar.

Based on 1 Thessalonians 4:13 I think it is obvious that this part of the dream is related to the rapture – specifically to the dead in Christ. We who are alive and remain will follow – but how soon? An instant, an hour, three days ??? It doesn’t say. But I’m going to throw out there for the sake of this dream that it’s 10 days. And while we will not be raptured at that time we will be transformed – changed from mortality to immortality

Day of Atonement- Yom Kippor

The second part of the dream pinponts September 25th. This ten day period from September 15th to September 25th is indicative I believe of transformed believers dressed in white with the flame of the Holy Spirit burning in their chests. During this time period they will serve as witnesses as to what God is about to do.

Hannukah – The Festival of Lights

Thursday evening December 7th thru Friday evening December 15th

The third part of the dream indicates that December 13th is an important day. December 13th is part of the week of Hannukah; it is the 7th day – Hannukah is eight days.

So, because December 13th cuts in to the Hannukah week on the 7th day I have pictured the 7 branched Menorah in the picture rather than the 9 branched of Hannukah.

The seven branched Menorah stood in the Holy Place of the Tabernacle and Temple and is separate from the Hannukah Menorah that commemorates the miracle of the oil in the time of the Macabees in what is known today as the Festival of Lights.

The question is: why was the date December 13th singled out?

I’m only guessing but it suggests to me a reversal of Hannukah. Think about it. Hannukah, the Festival of Lights commemorates a miraculous prolonged burning of oil (symbol of Holy Spirit) but this time God cuts it short. For 80 days (September 25th to December 13th) the world has had time to reflect on what has just happened – the dead raised and living witnesses transformed from mortal to immortal yet they still reject.

So, on the 7th day of Hannukah the Festival of Lights God cuts it short (reversing the miracle of the oil) and the world is plunged into physical and spiritual darkness.

80 Days

I like to look at Strongs concordance when it comes to numbers. I have often found additional insight into whatever I am studying by looking at the corresponding Greek or Hebrew word. In this case, the number 80 is assigned to the Hebrew word for “dust”.

Consider Isaiah 5:24 –

********

I hope by sharing this dream (and more importantly the dates accompanied by the symbols) that I have provided food for thought. I cannot with any certainty say that my interpretation is anywhere near accurate. Only time will tell. Until then, as always-

The Back Room – A Tale of Fiction

The Viewing

Mourners sat among the flowers. So, many in color and number that it was almost impossible to know if the dabbing at eyes and blowing of noses was from bereavement or from a reaction to the stifling sweet smell hanging like a fog over the densely packed room. Overhead two fans hummed in a lazy kind of harmony as children twisted and turned on heavily padded seats intended to imply a comfort on which they could not deliver.

I wasn’t quite sure how I got here. I didn’t seem to know anyone in the room let alone the deceased. The speaker at the podium seemed to know them well – who ever they were. A female, I presume as he (the speaker) kept going on and on about her cooking and judging from his girth I imagine he had some first hand knowledge on the subject. In fact, there wasn’t a dry eye in the place when he mentioned her prize winning pickled beets – and how she had placed first at the county fair over ten years running. Mopping his brow with an oversized handkerchief he turned the microphone over to a slim young woman who started a slide show to the somewhat tinny strains of “Take Me Home Country Roads” in which the dearly departed could be seen in photos depicting the various stages of her life.

Why was I here? And more than that – how did I get here? And strangely, I was no more noticed than one of the many pink and yellow roses that filled the room. I have to say they had done a lovely job on the deceased. And while I had only the photos from the slide show for reference I couldn’t help but think how good she looked – almost life like as she lay there in that casket. As good a job on cosmetics as I had ever seen … on the deceased anyway – which up until now hadn’t really been that many so maybe I wasn’t the best judge of that after all.

And then the service was over and people began to file out. One woman could be overheard saying “Henry, will be so happy to see her” to which the woman next to her replied “he did so love her pickled beets ::sigh:: I’m sure she’ll be making them again for him soon”. Heads bobbing together in agreement they walked out in to the bright sunshine overcome with the thought of Ethel cooking once again for her beloved husband Henry.

When the room had emptied and the coffin loaded into the hearse for transportation to the Cemetery I thought I would look at the guest book which sat near a hallway at the entrance to the room. Maybe there would be a name I would recognize which might provide some clue as to why I was here. Flipping through the pages I couldn’t see one name that seemed the least bit familiar and I wondered if I hadn’t ought to sign it myself … out of respect, you know … an effort to lend some dignity to the situation I found myself in. So, I signed the guest book with a flourish thinking how odd it will be when family members review the guest book commenting to one other “Do you know a Samuel K. Peabody? I can’t seem to place him.” “No, can’t say that I do. Perhaps, he was one of mothers piano students from when she was teaching.” “Yes, that must be it”. And that would be the end of the subject with no further thought to Samuel K. Peabody and who he was or why he had attended the service.

I sat the pen back in its holder. A fancy golden pen with the words Sunset Memorial Gardens -“see the Sunset with us” inscribed along its side. I was just about to leave when I noticed an open doorway. Well, not quite open … just three or four inches as if someone had not closed it properly. I really shouldn’t have done it but curiosity got the best of me and I wondered if it was an office or perhaps a back room for storage. What did I care but then again I hadn’t ask to be here so maybe a little further investigation would provide some clue as to why I was here and how I ended up in this place.

THE BACK ROOM

Walking towards the door I could see that whatever was inside was dimly lit. A short staircase of cold hard cement led in to the interior. Most likely this was a storage room. Cold damp air seeped out from the space sending a chill throughout my body in spite of the afternoon heat. I can’t explain why but instead of closing the door and walking away I took a step forward stopping just short of descending the stairs.

Squinting my eyes I could barely make out what appeared to be a cavernous space which seemed to go on forever. Shockingly, it was filled with coffins – some very, very old and some nearly new. Some were small; some large. Some were ornate while others were just pine boxes. Nothing was organized- not even close – and it seemed impossible to me how they could have ended up this way.

Some were sideways, others upside down, and others end upon end in a chaotic display of madness. Tons of metal with curliqued trim glinted off one another and it seemed as if the earth itself had violently expelled them from their resting place – if indeed there had ever been one.

Some of the lids had popped open exposing skeletal bodies in various stages of decay – who they were no one knew. Stripped of all dignity they were now nothing more than a stinking rotting mass – devoid of any meaning or purpose their lives had once held.

I felt as if I was choking. My throat seized up at what my eyes refused to comprehend and I sank to my knees in horror at what I saw next. There on the top of the heap was the coffin from the funeral I had just attended. But how could that be? I myself had seen it loaded in to the hearse for transport to the Cemetery not more than ten minutes ago yet here it was tossed away like so much rubbish. It didn’t make sense. It felt like a nightmare I should be waking from but instead it was very, very real – too real. How could things end up this way? It didn’t make sense and was completely incomprehensible to everything I had previously known or thought. It didn’t seem right – couldn’t be right; and, yet it was. Overwhelmed by what I had seen I grasped my head with both my hands and wept and wept.

+++++++++

Thank you for reading my story. It’s actually based on a dream my husband had a few nights ago. He seldom dreams so this was a big deal. In fact, it was so disturbing that once he woke up from it he could not go back to sleep.

We talked about it for the next few days and he felt strongly that the dream was intended to show the contrast between the reality of death and how it is viewed today by our current modern culture.

People today rarely see death outside of a controlled environment – where everything is sanitized and made pretty. And while we’re thankful not to see death in a way people did just a few generations ago it also allows people to live in a state of denial. Hence, the propensity for the bereaved to assign attributes from the lives of their loved ones from this life to the next.

If the deceased loved golfing here they’ll be golfing there … if they were known for their cooking here they’ll be known for their cooking there and so forth. I think the reason for this is that hobbies are a way of expressing our identity in a way that is important to us – and yet as we see in the story death is actually quite impersonal – once the flowers and accolades are over and everyone has gone home – the fate of Kings and paupers are one and the same. Doesn’t matter how you lived, your station in life or the many goals you achieved. Rich or poor its all the same.

I’ve taken some liberty with the dream in order to create a story. I hope it makes sense.

The back room in this story is allegory for the tomb. And in the back room there is no respect for the dead whatsoever. There they are counted as nothing …less than nothing. Without name, or status – they will never depart that wretched place – with one exception – when they are called to the Great White Throne for judgment. Aside from that they will continue to be nameless and faceless for all eternity – locked in a dark and lonely existence from which there is no escape. I can’t think of anything much more terrible than that.

But for believers this is not the case – because Jesus walked out from the tomb, so too shall we! It was not by accident that Jesus called Lazarus forth by name. Consider the following quote by Spurgeon and thank God he has rescued us from an existence more terrible than we could ever imagine.

The Grim Reaper or Something Else?

The Dark Image

On Saturday May 6 amid great pomp and circumstance the former Prince of Wales was crowned King Charles III at 12:04 p.m. at Westminister Abbey in London.

As millions around the world watched one keen observer noticed a dark figure crossing the entrance to the Abbey. It was certainly not a scripted part of the ceremonies as they were unfolding – or at least did not appear to be but then again, it’s hard to imagine that anything outside this highly detailed event could simply be by accident. So, scripted or not – who or what was it?

The Grim Reaper

Well, it didn’t take long for this image (the one at the coronation) to go viral as people around the globe were quick to point out the obvious resemblance to what most of us would recognize as the Grim Reaper…dark hooded robe with staff or scythe in hand. But that couldn’t be … could it? Something that was not photo shopped (as some might think) as the Abbey itself commented on the phenomena claiming that it was most likely a verger – which according to them is a member of the Abbey community who assists with services but is not a member of the clergy.

It was also suggested that the figure could be that of the Greek Orthodox Archbishop Nikitis Lulias who was present at the coronation but looking at his image I would say not.

As you can see, the head piece does not resemble that of the figure in the photo and more than likely the Archbishop was probably already inside the Abbey when the dark figure crossed the doorway.

Next we have the image of a verger – which could explain the Reaper like figure as the Abbey suggests. This particular photo is without a hood but some do have them if I am correct.

But, regardless to the actual identity of the figure crossing the entrance to the Abbey the main takeaway could be that the symbolism is found not in who it was but who it appeared to be – which was indeed –the Grim Reaper.

1204

In a ceremony that contained a number of oddities including the veiling of the Prince as he was anointed – the former Prince Charles was crowned King Charles III at 12:04 pm.

Let’s take a look at Strongs 1204 in the Greek –

1204. deuro Strong’s Concordancedeuro: until now, come here!Original Word: δεῦρο
Part of Speech: Adverb; Verb
Transliteration: deuro
Phonetic Spelling: (dyoo’-ro)
Definition: until now, come here!
Usage: (originally: hither, hence) (a) exclamatory: come, (b) temporal: now, the present.

This is a word that appears 9 times in the New Testament one of which is Revelation 17:1-3

“And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither! I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication”

Now considering that one possibility for the image was Greek Orthodox Archbishop Nikitas Lulias of Thyateira the letter to the Church of Thyratira comes in to play which brings the scathing accusation of –

You Tolerate that Woman Jezebel

” …who calls herself a prophet and leads my people in to sexual immorality”.

“Nevertheless, I have this against you: You tolerate that woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophet. By her teaching she misleads my servants into sexual immorality and the eating of food sacrificed to idols. I have given her time to repent of her immorality, but she is unwilling.  So I will cast her on a bed of suffering, and I will make those who commit adultery with her suffer intensely, unless they repent of her ways. I will strike her children dead. Then all the churches will know that I am he who searches hearts and minds, and I will repay each of you according to your deeds.  Now I say to the rest of you in Thyatira, to you who do not hold to her teaching and have not learned Satan’s so called deep- secrets. , ‘I will not impose any other burden on you.” Revelation 2:20-23

While swearing to uphold his position as not only the Monarch over the commonwealth Charles also (on oath) swore to uphold the Christian faith as head of the Church of England. Yet felt it necessary to include within this holy ceremony (if you want to use that word) to include those outside the faith he was swearing to up hold. As one publication put it –

“Another clear indicator of the King’s respect for and desire to include other faith traditions can be observed in the order of service for the coronation. The entry procession will begin with a procession of leaders from a range of faith traditions including from Judaism, Islam, Sikhism, Hinduism, and many more. The service will also end with a greeting from these faith leaders thus bookending the coronation with symbols of interfaith dialogue and cooperation”. Source of comment linked hereemphasis mine.

21 – The number of great wickedness, rebellion and sin

There are 21 days between the coronation of Charles and Shavuot which is Sivan 7 on the Hebrew calendar – May 27th on our calendar (also known as Feast of Weeks and/or Pentecost). Looking at scripture, we see that Moses was drawn out of the waters of the Nile on Sivan 7 – a day which set the course of direction for his life (and may correlate with the timing of the rapture as we are drawn “out of the waters of affliction and death” just as Moses was. It is also a date which could set the course for the reign of King Charles as 21 is the number of great wickedness, rebellion and sin. So, watch this weekend closely as there could be an event of some kind which could set these things in motion.

We are also told that Moses was three months old when he was placed in the river – which makes his birth Adar 7 – this year it fell on February 28th. So, what might Charles have been doing on Adar 7 three months before his coronation?

Frogs and February 28th

On February 28, 2023 (67 days before his coronation) Prince Charles officially evicted Prince Harry and his wife Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex from Frogmore Cottage in order to give it to Prince Andrew. From what I have read Prince Andrew was protesting this move as it is actually a demotion from the residence he had been residing in which was a sprawling mansion on 98 acres with 30 bedrooms known as Royal Lodge – whether he has since taken up residence there, I do not know. Doesn’t really matter. And for the record I think Prince Harry although living in California was still in possession of Frogmore until his father evicted him.

But Frogmore Cottage at least by name is probably more suited to Prince Andrew than it is to Harry (in spite of all his foibles) as frogs in the Bible represent unclean spirits, sexual immorality and perversion – all terms which are easily associated with Andrew and his notorious friendship with Jeffrey Epstein throughout the years.

So, just like Moses was drawn out of the water three months after he was born so Prince Charles was crowned King (three months) after his decision to move Prince Andrew to Frogmore Cottage – again, symbolic of unclean spirits, sexual immorality and perversion all of which the King not only tolerates but permits (and even encourages via the Pride movement).

The Church at Thyatira was commended even after their scathing rebuke for not learning Satan’s so called deep secrets. But as you will see this is exactly what Charles has done as head of the Church of England for the coronation was full of odd symbolism which can only be described as deep-secrets as demonstrated by his anointing behind decorative screens depicting the tree of life.

“Repent” ….the Lord says …”or I will strike your children dead” ….reminiscent of the 10th plague, – but we already know how this will end –

…. it appeared at the doorway of the Abbey before the coronation even began.

Korah and the Sin of Rebellion

“Then Moses said, ‘This is how you will know that the Lord has sent me to do all these things and that it was not my idea:

If these men die a natural death and suffer the fate of all mankind, then the Lord has not sent me. But if the Lord brings about something totally new, and the earth opens its mouth and swallows them, with everything that belongs to them, and they go down alive ino the realm of the dead, then you will know that these men have treated the Lord with contempt.” Numbers 16:28-30

*********

May 15, 2023

This past Monday May 15th was a day of heart wrenching contrasts. We were traveling out of state to the funeral of my father’s youngest sister. She was blessed with a long and prosperous life and was the last of ten siblings to pass away. As we were traveling, we received news of a mass shooting in our community. We are a large town but not really a city so the community was devastated to learn that three people had lost their lives that morning and that two police officers had been wounded along with other bystanders. The shooter (we later learned) was 18 years old and died at the hands of police officers when he refused to put down his weapon and fired on them. I was reading this on social media as we were traveling to our destination … and it was completely devastating to learn what had been happening in our community that morning.

Once we reached the location of the funeral we took our seats looking around for various family members some of whom we had not seen in many years. The hugs that followed and the memories shared did its work in tempering the sadness with smiles and chuckles at the recollection of happier times in years gone by.

Bittersweet

But it was bitter sweet. My aunt who passed away as well as much of my extended family are not saved. Oh, yes, the funeral was at a “church” or rather one which masquerades as a church, I should say. And who am I speaking of except The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints – the Mormons.

For those of you who are not familiar “the Church” or Mormons as we know them today was started in 1820 by Joseph Smith who after a series of visions claimed he was told by God that ” all other churches or denominations were corrupt” and an “abomination”. And that he was to do a new thing by restoring the true church of Jesus Christ to the earth and the gospel which had been lost. In order to do this he would need to write a new book which would be superior to the Bible translated from buried golden plates on which ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs were written – known today as The Book of Mormon.

After gaining a huge following Smith was assassinated in 1844 while being held in jail in Nauvoo, Illinois on charges of polygamy. Now you might think that would be the end of this wild scheme but martyrdom can be like fuel to a fire and when a talented and charismatic man by the name of Brigham Young took the reins everything would change. Moving the faithful West from Illinois to the Salt Lake Valley in 1847 – it was really only the beginning.

Biblical Doctrine vs Mormon Doctrine

God per the Bible – The eternal I am. Self existent from everlasting to everlasting. The one and only God who exists in three persons – Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

God per Mormon Doctrine – Was once a man who received exaltation to Godhood by following the tenants of the everlasting gospel – which they claim to be Mormonism. There are many God’s who reign over the various planets throughout the Universe (again, according to them) each existing with his own spirit wife (or wives) producing spirit children for the planet they over see. Any Mormon male who follows all their various rites and rituals satisfactorily may on his death do the same.

Jesus- per the Bible. Fully man and fully God, the second person of the Trinity whose existence is from everlasting and by whom all things were created whose death and resurrection made it possible for guilty sinners to be reconciled to God by his death on the cross.

Jesus per Mormonism. Just one of many spirit children of Elohim and his wife who was chosen at a divine council to be sent to earth to be the Savior. His brother Lucifer (who per the Bible is a fallen angel – not a spirit brother to Jesus as Mormons claim) was outraged that he was not selected and began a diabolical plan to thwart Jesus from the task he had been sent to do.

The Holy Spirit – per the Bible, the third person of the Triune God.

The Holy Spirit per Mormonism- A Spirit but not part of the triune God.

The Bible – The inerrant, immutable, unchanging word of God.

The Bible – per Mormonism. Reliable only as far as it has been translated correctly. Which provides an automatic out for them regarding any part of it that does not line up with their doctrine.

And this is just scratching the surface.

The Way it Was

When I was growong up in Utah as a non Mormon in a predominantly Mormon town … very small town – the differences between Mormonism and Christianity were huge. Remember they had rejected all other denominations as corrupt. Fast forward to the last few years particularly with the advent of The Chosen television program and you will find they are now going to great lengths to be viewed as Christian in the traditional sense where in the past they sought to be distanced from other denominations. I would be so bold as to say they are now in the process of attempting to not only be accepted but to dominate. And with the immense popularity of The Chosen co-produced by Evangelical Christian Dallas Jenkins in cooperation with VidAngel a Mormon production company it is not hard to see how this is working out as The Chosen is immensely popular among Mormons.

Korah’s Sin

In the book of Numbers Korah and his followers are questioning the leadership of Moses. In spite, of being chosen by God for the task of leading the Israelite people Korah and his bunch are resentful of his authority to the point of rebellion. Moses listens to them then takes it up with God where it is then put to the test. If God has not sent Moses the men will die a natural death (in due time as through the course of life) but if God had sent Moses the earth would open up swallowing the rebellious in a sudden, swift and terrifying death – which is exactly what happened.

Sudden Destruction

Before I continue, I want to say that the incident I am about to share has no personal reflection on my Aunt as she was a sweet and delightful woman that I have loved since childhood. I mean her absolutely no disrespect but found the following to be very interesting and worthy of contemplation.

After the service we traveled to the outskirts of town where you will find probably the most dismal Cemetery in existence. It is literally sand …a big ant hill. People have done their best to mitigate its horrendous appearance by covering the graves in colored gravel decorated with all sorts of accoutrement from the deceased particularly if they were children. Our family gathered around the gravesite for closing remarks and prayer. The casket was resting to the right from where I stood while the actual grave site (the hole) situated to the left was covered by a piece of plywood and a thin layer of fake green grass. After the closing prayer by my cousin – my Aunts youngest son – her more immediate family began gathering on the green carpet next to the coffin for photos. This would be her children, grandchildren and their spouses. I saw them taking pictures but was busy talking to other relatives so I wasn’t paying close attention- suddenly I heard a great commotion and screaming which startled me and as I turned to look the plywood over the hole had given away and all who had been standing on it – adults and children were suddenly and unexpectedly dropped in to the grave. As you can imagine there was an immediate scrambling to pull people out as the rest of us stood with our mouths hanging open – the coffin rocking widly side to side and close to tipping over completely as the plywood gave out. Thankfully, no one was hurt. Mortified, yes but not hurt as no one had expected to try out the gravesite ahead of the deceased.

Now, I don’t know how often something like this happens. I’m surprised the funeral home did not have the area roped off to keep people off the actual gravesite. My husband said he was watching and wondering how long the plywood would hold out before it gave way as more and more people were added for photographs. And sure enough at some point the stress became too much and down they went.

Why Now?

I couldn’t help but give some spiritual thought to all of this and while it was more than likely just one of those crazy things that eventually ends up on things like America’s Funniest Home Videos … I still thought there was something to be learned – besides the obvious – beware of standing over open grave sites. I mentioned it to my daughter who smart girl that she is stated that it reminded her of the incident known as Korahs Rebellion in the book of Numbers where the earth swallowed up the people who were in rebellion to God’s appointed authority Moses. “Wow, yes,” I said, “I think you’re on to something”. As I thought about it more I realized that my cousin – my Aunts youngest son who is highly involved in the Mormon Church was the last to speak before this incident. He gave the closing prayer. I don’t remember his exact words and with my hearing impairment could not catch most of them anyway but what I could hear was the very unusual usage of the term “Lord” … as in “Dear Lord” which is obviously how most Christians pray. However, I have never in 68 years living among Mormon people heard prayer started this way. They usually use the term Heavenly Father or Savior in a generic sense but never Lord. I think this is a direct reflection on interacting with other Christian denominations through media such as The Chosen because this is new. Now, before you think “well, that’s good” – not so fast. How can you address Jesus as Lord while rejecting the authority of his word? Jesus is the Living Word. Mormon theology has not changed – only the terms they use have. Any surprise then when the plywood gave way that it was my cousin who had given the closing prayer who fell into the pit along with his wife, children and grandchildren. I think not.

Rebellion – it comes in many forms and by its very definitionis a rejectionof authority. A troubled teen who takes to the streets with a gun and religious leaders who preach sermons and use words that while sweet on the tongue are cloaked in rebellion. Like Jesus said of the Pharisees –

“Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You travel over land and sea to win a single convert, and when you have succeeded, you make them twice as much a child of hell as you are.” Matthew 23:15

Why? Because they rejected the authority by which Jesus spoke. So making converts was completely useless. The blind cannot lead the blind or they will both fall in to a pit – as the scripture says. Matthew 15:14

Regardless of whether the Cemetery incident was a complete fluke or something more – the imagery for me was extremely powerful. And my heart cries out to the Lord for my many friends and family lost to this diabolical religious system- including my own dear younger brother. These people are for the most part sweet, kind and compassionate human beings – productive citizens who make their neighborhoods and cities a better place to live but are completely lost in a false religious system – that by its very nature is in rebellion to the true God of the Bible.

Please pray for them and all lost to false religions – the merging of all these religious systems are happening right now – in real time – an obvious sign of the times in which we live.

And, as always-

“Pray for the peace of Jerusalem they shall prosper who love thee “. Psalm 122:6

The Well

“The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strong holds.” 2 Corinthians 10:4

Day before yesterday just before waking I had a most unusual dream. It was sort of comical in a way. Certainly, one of those dreams that has you scratching your head for at least the first ten minutes you’re awake – and while some dreams momentarily get our attention more often then not they disappear like a vapor in the brightness of the new day and are all but forgotten before we even have our morning coffee. But I have learned over the years that detailed dreams (the ones that we remember) may in fact be something to pay attention to and could be sent by God or at least used by God to speak to our subconscious minds. That being said, after relaying the details of the dream to my daughter decided it might be interesting enough to blog on. So, here it is.

The Dream

In the dream, I could see a washing machine. The lid was up and a little child – a girl- was perched precariously on its side peering down in to it. I knew who she was … dark brown eyes with thick black eye lashes … her skin a nutty brown …. black hair the color of a crows feather pulled back in to two short braids. Her name was “Trinity” and she was about three years old. Suddenly, without warning Trinity fell forward in to the machine. I raced over to look for her but was shocked to learn that this was no ordinary washing machine – it in fact, covered a very deep and narrow well – with no possibility of reaching the child myself I decided I would call the fire department which I did. Confident that the fire department would soon be on its way I decided to go ahead and go to lunch. And so I left. On finishing lunch I was dismayed to learn that the Fire Department had never arrived and little Trinity was still at the bottom of the well.

The next thing I knew a young man by the name of “Caden” was peering into the machine. And just like Trinity ended up falling in to the well. Caden, I knew also – slightly built, you might think he was just a boy but he was in fact a young man in his late teens or early twenties. Nutty brown in color he (like Trinity) he had a shock of black hair that fell just above his ernest and deep brown eyes. And just as before I was determined that the fire department should come to rescue both of them.

But before the Fire Department could arrive my husband (apparently unaware of the situation) went to the machine where he proceeded to throw in laundry, pour in bleach and turn on the water. When I saw this I was appalled as I knew that Trinity and Caden were at the bottom of the well and I was concerned how this would affect them. Suddenly, from deep below we heard the voice of Caden in no apparent distress saying “You hit me on the top of my head with bleach” and can you please turn the water back on as it is “warm”.

End of Dream

Interpretation

For those of you who have made it this far, I commend you. To tell you the truth I’m not much on reading about other people’s dreams although there have been some noted exceptions.

Let me recap by stressing once again that dreams are (as we know) highly symbolic. More often than not, the dream is not about specific people but rather about some kind of symbolism associated with them either by name, number or description. The dream itself may not even have anything to do with the dreamer, although it could.

So, to start I will begin with the two names Trinity and Caden.

Trinity – The name Trinity is derived from the Holy Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Caden – The name Caden means battle or spirit of battle.

After relaying the dream to my daughter she felt certain the theme of this dream is spiritual battle which the names of the two individuals seem to confirm. The appearance of Caden and Trinity have little to do with dream (in my opinion) beyond aiding in identification.

The washing machine is a cleaning agent indicative of the spiritual battle going on below. The battle is long and deep and the way is narrow. There are those of us (like myself in the dream) who are aware of the battle but think the thing to do is to call in the professionals – they will handle it while we are free to go on about our business. And then there are others (who in the dream was portrayed by my husband) who for the most part are somewhat aware of the battle but think a good dose of “clorox” should fix the whole thing; there, we’ve done our part. Problem solved.

So there are two types of people portrayed by myself and my husband … one, who sees the battle but think it’s a job for the professionals i.e. the clergy or maybe even politicians perhaps and those who think a one time fix (hey, I voted) like a splash of clorox ought a do it. But what in reality is needed?

I came across this quote today by Charles Spurgeon and it really seemed to fit.

Prayer. Yes, prayer. Ok, so I think we all know that …but do we?

Prayer and What it Does

First of all, prayer recognizes that God is the source of all and by his grace we have the privilege and blessing of petitioning him to act. And secondly, placing our needs and requests before him glorifies him in a way that recognizes our utter dependency on him. But there is something else. Prayer engages us in the spiritual battle in a way nothing else can. When one does not pray it is easy to be disengaged and disconnected from the battle. Praying not only petitions God to act but is effective in getting us to act as well. Pray for the right to life and you are more likely to take a personal interest in your local pregnancy center. Pray that evil will not prevail against our children and you will be more likely to seek out a role in mentoring young children. Pray for the homeless and needy and you may find yourself volunteering at a food bank. Pray for your marriage and you will be more likely to honor your vows. For prayer causes us to act as much as it does God. I think the prevalence of evil in our day is a direct result of Christians who do not pray.

Remember in the dream where Caden (who represents spiritual battle) was unfazed by the clorox – but what did he request? Warm water! Hmmmm….I wonder why? Think about what Jesus said –

Our fleshly tendency is to be lukewarm- to take the route that that demands the least from us. Prayer is a propelling and motivating force that moves us toward the heart of God. I dare say that the overwhelming evidence is that the church today is not a people of prayer. Our culture is at an all time low with every sort of evil and depravity imaginable becoming the norm. The church is weak and will remain so until we recognize that our strength is in prayer. A lesson I myself am in need of as much as anyone else.

*A special thank you to my daughter whose spiritual insight has helped me countless times and whose gift when it comes to dream interpretation is unmatched.
