Heaven Bound

“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of The Lords favor and the day of vengeance of our God …” Isaiah 61:1-2

61 Days

In Luke chapter 4 verses 16-21 we read where Jesus at his home synagogue in Nazareth stood at the altar to read. The passage that morning was from Isaiah 61 …whether it was the scheduled reading for the day or Jesus chose it himself we are not told. It’s interesting though because on reading the text he stopped mid verse closed the scroll and sat down.

“He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read,  and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:

 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
    because he has anointed me
    to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
    and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
   to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him. He began by saying to them, “Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing.”

A Pause

We understand the reason Jesus closed the scroll where he did was because his first coming was to pour out God’s mercy and favor upon us instead of the wrath we deserve …. but his second coming will be something much different…his second coming will be one of vengeance and as we stand today there has been a two thousand year gap between the two. But that is about to change.

A Mighty Catch

As we approach the day of the second shaking we can only guess what that might be. From the date of the first shaking October 7th 2023 (the 21st day of the 7th month on the Hebrew calendar to December 7th 2023 ( the 24th day of the 9th month on the Hebrew calendar is 61 days. The number 61 according to Strongs is strongly (no pun intended) associated with Isaiah 61 which we looked at previously. It is also the Greek word associated with the large catch of fish from Luke chapter 5.

COP 28

We know the Kings and “mighty men” of this world are meeting this very week to hammer out their seven year plan for enslaving humanity under the guise of climate change. This year they are meeting for 12 days in Dubai with a scheduled day of rest on Thursday December 7th – the same day we expect the second shaking. Interestingly, Thursday is named for the Norse god Thor- a hammer wielding god associated with lightning, thunder storms, sacred groves and trees, strength, the protection of mankind and fertility.

COP 28 Itinerary

As we look over the daily itinerary for the conference day 7 stands out as it is marked as a day of rest? Why rest? Why not just break or free day? I find it interesting that their day of rest is not Saturday or Sunday but Thursday also known as Thor’s day – the god who wields a hammer. Reminds me of Jeremiah 50:23

“How broken and shattered is the hammer of the whole earth! How desolate is Babylon among the nations!

On December 8th following the designated day of rest the schedule resumes on the topic of youth, children, education and skills. Now we know what Jesus said about children:

 “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea” Matthew 18: 6

So, if it were not enough that they prefer children to be aborted rather than born – they plan to indoctrinate those who survive – if not killed first in the next pandemic.

I think therefore if the rapture should coincide with the great shaking of December 7th tomorrow it may be in part due to the dastardly plans they have in store for children.

The door of grace and favor is closing….

“Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I am going to shake the heavens and the earth” Haggai 2:21

A shaking is coming. It cannot be halted, rescheduled or diverted. God has determined that on the 24th day of the 9th month (of some year on the Hebrew calendar) he will shake the heavens and the earth. And he will – there is no doubt about that.

This year the date falls on December 7th – which also happens to be the first day of Hannukah. And every year we look at these dates from Haggai chapter 2 and wonder if this year is the year. And so far those dates have come and gone without fulfillment – but this year is different … this year, I think we do know – this year, I think is it.

If it were not for October 7th we might not be able to pin point the date of the second shaking but because of the massacre by Hamas (on the date which corresponds to the date of the first shaking – the 21st day of the 7th month) I think we can reasonably expect that the second shaking will follow the first therefore it will be this year. Like a house in an earthquake the first shaking weakened the timbers but the second will bring it down.

But why? And for what purpose? And to answer that question we go no further than Haggai chapter 2 where God states:

” I will over throw Royal thrones and shatter the power of foreign kingdoms. I will overthrow chariots and their drivers; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.” Haggai 2:22

The first shaking affected Israel and by extension much of the world. The second shaking will be a bit different for it will affect the nations of the world and Israel by extension.

The second shaking? What might it be? Will it be expansion of the war? Terrorism on American or European soil? Financial collapse? Or perhaps all of the above.

At this point we can’t say for sure but no matter what it turns out to be – the end result will be the same – the collapse of the world’s systems and the installment of God’s kingdom in its place.

I’ve been thinking this over the past few days and asking the Lord for some insight and night before last I received a short dream that for me was helpful in understanding where we are at prophetically and for what purpose.

The Dream

In my dream, I was 36 weeks pregnant and I was at the doctor’s office for a visit. While there I coughed and had some bloody discharge for which the doctor wanted to examine me. He knew a bloody discharge could indicate that labor was imminent so he had me go into an adjoining room to change clothing so that he could do the examination.

While in the other room a Dr. Berg came in. In fact, he came in to the room twice. This was not the doctor who was going to be doing the exam. For some reason Dr. Berg was very chatty … sitting at the foot of the bed smoking a cigarette and telling me how he was looking forward to his retirement.

When I got back to the other room the doctor who was waiting for me was quite vexed that it had taken me so long to get ready for the exam.

End of Dream

Interpretation

The fact that I was 36 weeks pregnant suggests two things –

1- The rapture

2- Sudden destruction

“While people are saying peace and safety destruction will come on them suddenly, as labor pains on a pregnant woman and they will not escape”. 1 Thessalonians 5:3

The bloody discharge as most women know indicates that labor is imminent- any where from a few minutes, hours, days or even weeks (generally one to two – if weeks). Hence, at 36 weeks the start of labor and delivery is only a matter of time. And the rapture must precede destruction/ judgment as believers are not appointed to judgment…our sins have already been judged at the cross.

Dr. Berg … the meaning of Berg is mountain. Remember from my previous post The Shaking we discussed how the first shaking was Mt. Sinai when the law was given.

So, we have Dr. Berg entering the room twice representing two mountains one of which is Sinai and the other the mountain of the Lord which is Zion.

“Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever”. Psalm 125:1

Mountains are typically symbols of stability and strength. Yet the Bible tells us that everything (aside from God) will be shaken.

“At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, ‘Once more I will shake not only the earth, but the heavens.’ The words once more indicate the removing of what can be shaken — that is created things — so that what cannot be shaken may remain.” Hebrews 12:26-27

I expect therefore a great shaking of the nations. Dr. Bergs retirement you might say is symbolic of God bringing his plan redemptive plan its completion which is indicative of rest.

“There remains then a sabbath rest for the people of God, for anyone who enters God’s rest also rests from their own works, just as God did from his.” Hebrews 4:9,10

Summary

The second shaking is going to greatly destabilize things putting into motion all of the events from the book of Revelation- so there is still much to come. In the end only the mountain of God – his kingdom will remain. The rapture is very near … possibly by December 7th. if not before. Therefore, stay encouraged …it’s all going to wrap up very, very soon.

A Vision for the Future

I came across a website recently that was new to me. It has a lot of interesting features one of which is assigning numbers to verses in the Bible. You can look up all kinds of things and I haven’t yet began to explore all that is available there, but plan to. For those of you interested it is : https://www.newjerusalem.org/.

Anyhow, one of the things I wanted to look at once I found the site was the Hebrew year 5784 (which is the current year) and the verse that corresponds to it. And when I did I was kind of blown away – I think you’ll see why. It’s Deuteronomy 32:25 and is part of The Song of Moses.

I can’t tell you if these kinds of things are coincidence or not but I do believe God is a master at weaving things together in a way we cannot even began to comprehend. So, here it is.

“In the street the sword will make them childless; in their homes terror will reign. The young men and young women will perish, the infants and those with gray hair.”

And isn’t that exactly what happened the morning of October 7th? Has this happened before? I’m sure it has when they were taken into captivity nevertheless for this verse to correspond with this date is extraordinary. And that’s not to say that every year has a corresponding prophetic verse. But in this case (in my humble opinion) it certainly seems to be. But why? Well, to even begin to understand that question we would need to look at the Song of Moses out of which the verse comes … the last recorded words of Moses before he died on Mount Nebo. So, it seems that God has allowed this tragedy (and others) in order to bring Israel to the place they need to be. Yes, they have been in the land since 1948 but over the years they have become increasingly secular and tolerant of all kinds of immoral behavior … much like the Western world. Tel Aviv is known as the gay capital of the middle-East with thousands participating in its annual pride parade. This is not what God returned them to the land for. The Song of Moses is a reminder of this and is so important that in Revelation 15 it is sung along with the Song of the Lamb.

It’s interesting to note that these songs precede the last seven plagues that make up God’s wrath.

And while it may be hard for us to understand why God allows certain things we can look back and see how God has used these things in bringing about his divine purpose. Take for instance the holocaust … the Jews had become very comfortable in their lives throughout Europe but this was not God’s long term plan for them. It took intense persecution to get them to leave Europe. And now back in the land for 82 years its going to take something equally drastic to move them from their current place of unbelief to belief. And I believe that process started the morning of October 7th. 2023 – Tishrei 21, 5784

The First Shaking

In the the book of Haggai chapter 2 God mentions twice that he will once more shake the heavens and the earth – and he even gives the dates. Now, incredibly the date of the Hamas massacre occurred on the first of those dates. Thank you to Steve Fletcher of A Trumpet For My People on YouTube for alerting us/me to that information. That date was the 7th of October or the 21st day of the 7th month as it says in Haggai.

“On the twenty first day of the seventh month, the word of the Lord came through the prophet Haggai….this is what the Lord Almighty says ‘In a little while I will once more shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and dry land. I will shake all nations, and what is desired by all nations will come…” Haggai 2:1,6-7

The second date from Haggai 2 (the second shaking) is December 7th or the 24th day of the 9th month which is also the first day of Hannukah (and the 82nd anniversary of Pearl Harbor).

“The word of the Lord came to Haggai asecond time on the twenty fourth day of the (ninth) month ‘tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I am going to shake the heavens and the earth”. Haggai 2: 20, 21

From Tabernacles to Hannukah- 62 days

It is interesting to note that these two dates are 62 days apart and that no matter what year the dates will always fall on the last day of Tabernacles and on the first day of Hannukah. So, it seems (in my opinion) to indicate that these two dates are intended to be connected. Keeping in mind that when Haggai was written Hannukah or the Festival of Lights was yet in the future.

And what may or may not happen on that date (December 7th this year) we just don’t know; but, as mentioned it is the first day of Hannukah.

On the evening of December 7th the first candle will be lit – there it will stand alone with the middle candle (the shamash or servant candle) by which it and all the others will be lit in the following days.

So, during the space of 62 days we will have traveled from the last day of Sukkot to the first day of Hannukah – a day on which God promises he will once again shake the heavens and the earth.

The Second Shaking

So, if the first shaking brought trouble to Israel (the Psalm 83 war – or what appears to be on October 7th) what might the second shaking bring? Will it be more trouble? The Ezekiel 38, 39 war? Or will it be defeat over their enemies? I don’t know for sure but let’s take a look at the book of Hebrews for some possible insight.

” At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, ‘Once more I will shake not only the earth but the heavens.’

The words “once more” indicate the removing of what can be shaken—that is, created things—so that what cannot be shaken may remain.

Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,  for our “God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:26-28

So, we see that when the Lord spoke at Sinai his voice shook the mountain. In Haggai, we read that God is once again going to shake not only the earth but the heavens. And while we might ask ourselves why – we need go no further than to that same passage from the book of Hebrews.

Its purpose (we read) is for the removal of all that can be shaken in order for that which cannot be shaken (God’s kingdom) to stand.

When God shook the mountain at Sinai he established his law – when he says in the book of Haggai and the book of Hebrews that he will once more shake the heavens and the earth it will be for establishing his kingdom.

Therefore could it be that the Lord himself will light the first candle of Hannukah by defeating their enemies. The configuration of which the two candles standing alone (God’s and Israel) might suggest.

Consider these words from Psalm 83: 13-18.

“My God, make them like the whirling dust,
Like chaff before the wind. Like fire that burns the forest,
And like a flame that sets the mountains on fire,
So pursue them with Your heavy gale,
And terrify them with Your storm.

Fill their faces with dishonor,
So that they will seek Your name, Lord.
May they be ashamed and dismayed forever,
And may they be humiliated and perish,
So that they will know that You alone, whose name is the Lord,
Are the Most High over all the earth”.

Conclusion

It will be interesting to see what God does with this situation in the days to come. In my opinion, once the Psalm 83 war has been won the stage will be set for the Ezekiel 38, 39 war – what we are witnessing today is but one chapter in the final fulfillment of God working out his plan for Israel and indeed all the nations of the earth. And while there is much more to come it is important to remember that God is using a final shaking for one purpose and one purpose only – and that is to bring about his kingdom …and that process has begun.

Last night I had a short dream that I think may be of some importance. If anything, it may point to where we are in our current time frame of events. Not that there aren’t enough signs already. But for what it’s worth – here it is.

The Dream

In my dream, I saw two young women I knew. They were twins and I had known them from the time they were very young. One has a name which means beloved the other has a name which means fair or soft. They had exited a car and were about to enter a building where a party was being held in their honor. Somehow I knew it was a party that I was not invited to – not only not invited to but actually excluded from. A party in celebration of their coming to maturity. When I saw them I exclaimed in a somewhat complimentary kind of way -“you’re all grown up!” To which they glanced at me with a wry kind of smile and then without saying anything hurried on their way..

End of Dream

A very curious kind of dream. It had me puzzled so I ran it by my daughter for interpretation. And she did not disappoint.

Interpretation

The interpretation is based both on the meaning of their names and their own personal history. These are girls – twin sisters – that I have known for many years. And while I have not seen them in quite a long time (with the exception of social media) they are from a family that I knew well.

Both girls were raised in a Christian home but have since departed from the faith. One is gay, the other an ultra liberal and rabid supporter of things like BLM. Its interesting that while their names portray one thing their actions are quite another.

The Party

The “party” and “the girls” according to the interpretation denotes the timing of something which has reached its maturity- its fullness. It represents a worldview whose time has come. No more delay. The party has started and we (believing Christians) are not invited. The door to this brave new world is closed to us – a kind of perverse reversal of the parable of the 10 virgins- hence, the condescending smile of contempt and distain (on their faces) as if to say “.. depart from us you bigots… , you racists … you homophobes and earth killers” … you have no part with us”. And they are right – we have no part with them.

The Fullness of Time

I think a parting of our ways is coming very soon. The Judeo-Christian values that most of Western civilization has been built on is now crumbled almost beyond recognition. The two world views cannot coexist much longer. The strain is too much. And while we (in no uncertain terms) have been excluded from their party…they still have an open invitation to ours – at least for now.

“A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.” Matthew 2:18

This morning we received terrible news out of Israel. One of the news outlets reporting was the New York Post which had this to say:

“Hamas terrorists slaughtered at least 40 babies and young children — decapitating some of them — at a kibbutz near the Gaza border, shaken Israeli officials and reporters at the scene said Tuesday”.

Like most people I was absolutely sickened at this news. The sheer evil of such actions is nearly incomprehensible. But it’s not the first time. As soon as I read the reports I immediately thought of the verse from Matthew about Rachel weeping for her children when King Herod (at the time Jesus was born) had all baby boys under two years of age killed. Rachel is a metaphor for the mothers of Israel which goes back to Jeremiah 31:15 where mothers were in mourning for their children as they were being carried off in to Babylonian captivity.

I’ve been pondering this all day – the similarities between the two events – the one in Matthew and the one in the news today. It seems as there is something to be learned.

In Matthew chapter 2 it says that King Herod (out of jealousy) had all baby boys under two years of age in Bethlehem and the vicinity killed. Now, Bethlehem was a very small place (as it is now) and I’m not sure how much territory “vicinity” would consist of but based on that information the number is most likely not as high as I had originally thought. For some reason in my mind it was thousands! But now I’m wondering if the number might be closer to 40 which is the number in the news story today.

Now, I’m not sure about the implication of any of this except to say that in my opinion it could indicate that what is coming (the tribulation) has nothing to with us – the Church … this is about Rachel … and the time of Jacob’s trouble. So if that is the case – the rapture must be very, very near. Rachel because Jacob had to work a second seven years for her – the outcome of which will be the salvation of Israel – even if it is just a remnant.

It’s interesting to note that Rachel is buried at Bethlehem while Leah is buried with Jacob in Hebron. Rachel buried at the site of her weeping per the scripture out of Matthew is quite extraordinary.

And as always and particularly now –

On Wednesday October 4th at 2:20 p.m. an alert will go out to every cellphone, T.V and radio across the country in order to test the readiness of the Emergency Alert System. This test is being conducted in part by FEMA which is enough to raise the eye brows of some who find the agency to be less than trustworthy to say the least.

I thought 2:20 p.m. was an odd time to choose. Why not on the hour or even on the half hour? So, because I enjoy looking at Strongs numbers for possible insight I decided to check and found the Greek word for Strongs 220 is “cock or rooster” and is the word used in scripture regarding the betrayal of Jesus by Peter.

Jesus said to him, “Truly I say to you that this very night, before a rooster crows, you will deny Me three times.” Matthew 26:34

Here is the Strongs information-

Isn’t it interesting that the time the alert is set for is the same word for rooster – for what does a rooster do but alert us to something … rise n’ shine – its time to wake up, get up, rise-up – morning has come.

But are they really interested in testing their alert …or is it something else? The Strongs word 220 is rooster, yes – but in every case where it is used it is in regard to:

Betrayal

Is this what we need to be aware of? Alerted to? Are we somehow being betrayed? And, if so, how soon might we know?

And while I can’t answer that question with anything more than a hunch – my first thought would be –

Before the cock crows again ….

** My daughter pointed out today that Covid was officially declared to be a pandemic on 3/11/2020. A match for the time of yesterday’s test (2:20 p.m.) if you drop the zero. According to scripture, Jesus correctly prophesied that Peter would disown or betray him three times before the cock would crow. Was yesterday our second betrayal with 3/11/2020 acting as the first? And if so, is there a third one to come? I think I will be watching for some variation on 2020 or 2:20 in the near future. After which we might possibly expect the rooster to crow in some form or other symbolically speaking. What form that might come in I have no idea. But, I will be watching

According to Wikipedia in the time of the Pharaohs Egypt had over 2,000 gods. It’s been said that “they worshipped nearly everything that moved” – which seems incredibly odd to us but really shouldn’t be as we are a culture absolutely saturated with “gods” in numbers that the ancient world could never have imagined.

If we made a list of those “gods” how far would it stretch? The categories alone would make up a very long list – not to mention the sub-categories that would follow. And while humans have obviously had a penchant for making “gods” out of whatever they could see it has never been more true than with the advent of motion pictures and television. And while this is not exactly a new revelation I did find something interesting that I believe pertains.

The Jazz Singer

Intentionally released on the Day of Atonement 1927 * The Jazz Singer was the first movie with sound. Interestingly, the plot revolves around a Jewish son’s choice to perform opening night on Broadway or to return home to perform the Yom Kippor service in place of his ailing father who was unable to do so due to illness. The son had previously left home (to his fathers dismay) to pursue the life of a stage performer – a jazz singer – rather than follow in his fathers footsteps as tradition would require as Cantor for the local synagogue.

Rope, Cord, Cordage

1927 ( the year The Jazz Singer was released) was the Hebrew year 5688. And because I find the corresponding Strongs numbers to be insightful I looked up 5688 and found it to mean “rope, cord, cordage”. It is the word used in Psalm 118:27 and in Isaiah 5:18 – each with two different applications.

“God is the LORD, which hath shewed us light: bind the sacrifice with cords, even unto the horns of the altar” Psalm 118:27

Clearly, a reference to the Day of Atonement as the verse speaks of the cords that bind a sacrifice. And we know Jesus was bound as a sacrifice. An interesting connection to the theme of this movie.

“Woe unto them that draw iniquity with cords of vanity, and sin as with cart-ropes!” Isaiah 5:18

In Isaiah, we see the word cords used as instruments by which people are drawn into sin – vanity in particular.

Thus a picture emerges by which the “first film using sound” references both the day of Atonement and the cords of iniquity by which we are drawn away from God. Interesting.

Summary

I started this post after thinking about all the things that vie for our attention in this modern age – idols- whether they be sports, politics, entertainment or anything related and how they can all be traced back to the advent of film – film with sound in particular which brought me to The Jazz Singer. It is no coincidence that the film plot was centered around the Day of Atonement and premiered on the Day of Atonement. The son (in the film) had a choice and while he did return home to reconcile with his father and perform his duty it was secondary to the future he had in mind for himself. In the end, he answered what he believed to be the higher calling – and, to his shame – and ours – we often do the same thing?

In the months and years since the premier of this film we have been bombarded with names – they mesmerize us through their onscreen presence – politicians, sports figures, and entertainers of all kinds – they capture our imagination and shape our lives. We want to know what they do, where they go, what they eat. We want to look like them, think like them and dress like them. Like seaweed (cords of iniquity) they wrap their long tentacles around us binding us until we can never get free. A sacrifice on the altar of self. And worse than that – we reward them handsomely for doing so.

But the day is coming – thank you Lord – when there will be one name and only one – the name of Jesus. And I think so many of us are ready to be freed from this constant onslaught of names and personalities that work continuously to snare us and destroy our walk with Jesus. I know, I for one can’t wait.
